So bootcut jeans are out?

I'm a pear shape, and I keep trying skinnies thinking that they'll look good, but they don't. I wear straight or trouser styles. I don't like the way bootcuts look on me anymore (to me, they look dated when I'm wearing them).

I am tall and still wear bootcuts (a modest boot, not a flare--and nearly all the brands I wear still make them, so I don't know how "out" they can be). I also wear straight-leg jeans. Skinnies actually aren't super-flattering on me; they end up making me look like a normal person down the thighs, and then toothpicks. Unless I'm covering the skinny part of the leg with a knee-high boot, I skip the skinnies. Wear what's flattering on you, and skip unflattering trends.

OP just wear your bootcut jeans. Half of these bitches who think they look good in skinny jeans are being laughed at because they look ridiculous .

Stores will continue to sell flares and bootcut because some people cannot take the leap. I was one of you but I did and I am so happy. My clogs look terrible with my skinnier jeans so I do bust out the boot cut on occasion. BUT... giver the slimmer cut a try--looks good and it is fun to wear tall boots over and short boots under. You need to try a few to find the right fit but truly, they are a breath of fresh air. And I am pear shaped.

I think she/he is referring to protecting the children...as in not giving them nightmares.

I know my kid would run screaming from the room if I shuffled out in a pair of skinny jeans and a chic tunic. At 5'3" and...I'm not saying how many pounds, I'd look like a kielbasa draped in a tablecloth.. Skinny jeans are for the skinny(ish).

Plus, I'll stop wearing boot cuts when everyone else stops wearing those gawd awful acid washed high waisted monstrosities.
