| Not allowed for me, my job doesn't allow moonlighting and salary is fixed. DW can pick up extra shifts. |
+1 We just made sure our mortgage was what we felt we could afford, not what the bank said we could afford. We saved before having children to be able to have a jump start on college and retirement and have the emergency fund. We were in our early to mid thirties when we married. We budget for unexpected expenses- there is always something every year, we just don't know what it will be, but we know it is around 5%-10% of our budget. |
| Not really, I have a fixed salary. I do get paid out for unused vacation time over a certain cap, so I suppose I could "earn" more money by never using my vacation. And I could pick up a side job like waiting tables or something, but there really aren't any "side" options in my career field. |

Talking about online money making, I would define these options:
Different surveys can't bring much money, but that's rather stable I think Online casinos and gambling sites are not bad, just choose secure ones, preferably with good bonuses for beginners. Trading must be the most profitable, but one gotta be rather experienced and smart to make money on it instead of losing. |
| Banquet bartender for a temp agency. I’ve been doing it for 11 years and am friends wth the people at the agency giving job assignments, so I get first pick. I have tons of vacation at my day job, so I’m December, I’ll take half days or full days off to work private parties at homes, country clubs, hotels, etc. I make about $5k in December and $1k/mo the rest of the year. |
| Pick up extra shifts. I work ca 25 hours at nights and weekends and stay home with our toddler day time. We could also rent out our indoorb parking spot since there's plenty of street parking at all time. |
| I walk dogs at a retirement home a block from my house. I pick up an extra $1,110 a month doing this |
| No...we just didnt take on more mortgage than we could afford. That the trap most people here get sucked into. |
How much do you charge and how many dogs do you walk in a typical day? I've been doing some dog walking, but haven't made anywhere near that much. |
Even if she did, there's nothing loathsome about that. When you give something for free, you don't put restrictions on its use. THAT would be loathsome. |
Exactly. Not loathsome at all. Extremely smart. |
$20/visit x 4 dogs a day 5 days a week and you could easily make $1,100. Sounds like you don't have enough clients and/or don't do enough walks. - Not the original 'I walk dogs' poster |
Nothing wrong with either. |
Thank you, that makes sense. I balance dog walking with a full time job and automatically take out 30% of everything I make for taxes so it seems like I make so little. |
