Our Community Montessori Cooperative, a relatively new montessori coop in Lanham, is still accepting kids for Fall 2017. Email ocmc.mail@gmail.com for more information!

I can't recommend New Hope Academy in Landover Hills enough. The early childhood education there is top notch and there a strong family atmosphere. There's also lots of extracurriculars that students can take advantage of early on (dance, martial arts, etc.) and they integrate these into the day so you don't even have to make a special trip somewhere else! The school goes all the way to 12th grade, but I can't speak to the standard grades. For pre-k and K you really can't ask for a better education and at such an affordable cost. The building is a built older and doesn't have the shine of many newer facilities, but trust me you want to be at a location where your 3 and 4 year old comes home talking about how air "vibrates" the "membrane" in your ear and that's how you hear.

I agree that PK was great at New Hope. From there it got to be a bit much for my child. A lot of the elementary classes were combined due to low enrollment (ie. 3rd and 4th grades combined) and there was a ton of homework (minimum 45m night for my 2nd grader.) But Ms. Kim and Ms. Mary in PK were amazing with my daughter and have her a great PK experience.

Another vote for Greenbelt Nursery Co-op. It's possible even if you cannot do the co-op hours.

I recommend Greenbelt Nursery School. It is a co-op, but manageable even if you work (volunteer 4ish hours approx 2x a month). Full-time or part-time. I miss it.

We went to GNS also, and loved it.

My son did after care at Rainbow for kindergarten and the first summer after. I'm not sure what changed, but starting in first he asked to go somewhere else, so we are.

I'm contemplating putting my other son into Rainbow for the preschool. From parents I've talked to, it's a lot more academically oriented than GNS was.

We had the same experience with Rainbow aftercare. Son seemed to love it, then asked not to go after 2 years.

Our Community Cooperative Montessori School. They are Montessori certified so your child can transfer to any public Montessori as well and they have half day and full day classes. And best of all rolling enrollment and nice people!

SKC-Watkins Park! Hands down has been the best daycare so far. I have a 2yr old that has attended since she was 14 months.

How much are you paying for a two year old there?

My 2 year old was attending in Upper Marlboro. $265 a week! Not worth it. They were in rooms with no windows.

I pay around $250/week (I have a discount not sure what the regular rate is). She will be there until we move out of the area in 1-2yrs.

Was this the Trade Zone location? Never been to that one, visited their District Heights location and the area alone made me change my mind. I've had a positive experience at their Watkins Park location (all the classrooms have windows here).
