best place to buy bra for 13 year old

As a girl almost 13, I like aerie. They have lightly lined bras and bralets that are good for young girls.

Justice has stuff for eighteen year old's, so you have a mistake. It is focused on many age groups.

Take her to soma. Great bras that are practical.

I bought my daughter some bras at Target. They have several styles (including padded) in both the kids section and women's section. Very reasonable.

This thread doesn't even go here!

Tween and teen would be more appropriated.

I agree. I'm 15 now and am a 34C. I love Pink and have been going there since I was 12 and a 32AA. I think it's important to feel mature and like u fit in.

Why would you give a bra to a child?

Question - my tween DD is probably still a large A cup but she has definitely filled out an needs a real bra; the pullover bras on the kids’ section at Target aren’t doing the trick anymore. But I’m very hesitant about padding because they make breasts appear larger, and I don’t want my young DD to get unwanted attention. What are people’s thoughts on this? I’m curious about the “lightly padded” bras that PP mentioned.

??? There’s middle ground between the half cami training bras and padded bras. They make bras with molded cups that aren’t padded.

Nordstrom used to have good fitters. Don't know if that's the case anymore.

Another vote for Aerie. I wouldn't spend big $ on bras for teens- they grow through them and don't need as much support.

TBH I think good fitters are hit or miss these days at whatever department store you try.

I worked in lingerie depts. for several years and was able to fit people— I could even just look at people and have a reasonable guess at what size they wore, lol. I’ll probably take my daughter to Nordstrom and/or gap body when the time comes (hoping it’s a while from now but she’s almost 7, and I started wearing a training when I was 8).

OP here, thanks for all the advice so far from everyone. Macy's looks like a good option. My 13 year old wouldn't be caught dead in Justice, btw - haha! Not sure what Dealia's is... Also, I do think she needs a bit of padding and I don't think she's a fan of sports bras because they are difficult to get on/off.

To the PP that suggested VS - ugh. I realize they have some stuff that could be "cute" and not "sexy" -- if they just took out the "cute" stuff and had a store for teens, maybe I'd consider it - but it makes me uncomfortable to shop with her in a store where the undergarments are marketed for sale for sex appeal. I just want to go for function at this point.

I'm still open to more suggestions. I might check out Gap Body (never been in there)...

Why not?

Because the clothing is mostly geared towards 7-10 year olds. My 11 year old just told me most of the stuff there is now to babyish. She refuses to shop there. Any 13-year-old who shops and there would have to be grossly immature.

My daughter buys the lightly padded more like molded) bras at Target. They do not make her look "big" in in any meaningful way (she's a 32AA, if that matters). She previously complained about tenderness around her nipple, and her nipples just kind of poked out without the benefit of the fuller breast and looked really obvious. The padded/molded bra made her breast shape more subtle by toning down the nipple area - and it felt better.
