Seriously? I find your request annoying. |
| My SIL talks in a high-pitched sing-songy voice that drives me insane-- like she is always addressing a room full of preschoolers. I suspect it was a bit of an intentional act when she was in high school (i.e., the cute dumb blonde act, even though she is really smart) but somewhere along the way it became habit. I've heard her speak in a normal voice when it is one on one, but put her in a group setting and the annoying voice comes out. She's gotten kind of stuck in a rut with her job over the past couple of years-- passed over for various management promotions etc. despite strong job performance and she doesn't know why. I suspect that her girlish demeanor at work may be the issue. I don't think she comes across as a leader, even though she probably has the skills and definitely has the intelligence to take on more responsibility. |
| I just wanted to say I've read this whole thread using that high girly voice in my head. Thanks op |
| I'm one of the high pitched voice PPs. It's my natural voice. To all the people telling to get a voice coach etc. to change it: I will not. This is my natural female voice. I was not molested. It is not an affectation. I deserve to be taken seriously on my own merits. I should not have to make my voice deeper (more masculine) for others to find me "appropriate." Good grief. |
a deeper female voice isn't masculine, you helium voiced freak. |
| Several women who talked like this, turned out to be the biggest bitches I've ever met. I can't generalize though, because my best friend also has a high-pitched voice. |

OP has nailed exactly what is going to affect Kirstin Gillibrand on the national stage when she runs for POTUS.
I'd vote for her, but her little girl/valley girl voice is going to damage her. |
I"ve found that deeper more raspy voiced females are more promiscuous.
|
| Kristin Chenowith? |
Why would you vote for someone who called Arlington a soulless suburb? |
Yup, like Michelle Duggar |
Because that shows me she has excellent insight and taste. |
I have no idea who Kirstin Gillibrand is, but +1 |

Could be a sign of trauma as a child. |
| I picture ladies wearing prairie dresses and boufont hairdos when I hear that voice. I also hear Gidget and members of the Mickey Mouse Club. |
