No freebies here. Tickets or accidents. My 23 year old is still on her dad's insurance (he's kicking her off soon) and 20 year old son is on ours, it'd be harder than heck for them to afford it on their own, son is in college DD graduated recently, BUT before I get jumped for "babying" them in this way, they totally pay for college on their own.
We also had the rule that if they wanted to make irresponsible decisions like drink as an underager, we would instantly revoke sponsorship of their drivers license and they'd have to wait until 18 to get it back. Didn't matter if they were caught by police or not, if we found out they had done it, they'd be w/o a DL in a heartbeat. Now, I'm not so naïve to believe that they never drank a beer at age 17, but they didn't get caught by anyone with any authority, LOL!!!
