A fine example of the "top notch" open-minded Cal education -- "you Berkeley haters are *crazy.* " |
Berkeley also has one of the worst safety ratings for a large school (Grade F) http://www.american-school-search.com/safety/university-of-california-berkeley |
Ditto. I have a coworker that went to one of those institutions and admits that she didn't get a good education because they were more focused on morality than education. |
Best to avoid the extremes on both sides. College should be about experiencing various viewpoints. For a daughter, I'd also avoid the schools with a high percentage of sexual assaults: http://www.american-school-search.com/colleges/dangerous |
Penn State |
Any school that offers DC a merit scholarship. It's a pretty good sign that the school is desperate for stronger students to boost their averages. Plus it redistributes money from needier students to families that don't need the financial help. |
Any small, regional school that doesn't offer DC money. He wanted to go to Providence College at full pay...not happening! |
The Citadel or VMI. |

I like USC. Absolutely hate the location. It's dangerous. Period. |
Good point! If a university or college is afraid of open and free dialogue then they should not be in business. |
what? I'd be thrilled if Dc could get in, but it is super selective. |
No doubt south-central LA is a dangerous place, but the campus itself is not among the 100 most dangerous. |
