reason? Look at the front page of your paper

The school is a disgraceful

Watch the faithful circle the wagons

That pretty much describes all of the big time sports schools in the south...

And it's not this way in the North?

no where near as egregious. The culture is completely different.

That said, pac12 probably has the best blend of academics and sports

The Big 10 is even better (no USC) plus more elite schools like U Chicago/Northwestern/Hopkins in the academic CIC along with Michigan, Wisconsin, UMD, Penn State etc.

ok - chicago and hopkins are not full members of the b10. I'm a b10 alum and that's just being a homer. hopkins is a b10 affiliate in one sport and chicago is a d3 school.

Stanford, UCLA, Cal, USC - no other d1 (ivy is d1-aa) conference has as many schools in the top 25 usnwr.

I will concede that the bottom of the big 10 is better than the bottom of the pac12.

stanford, cal, and ucla far outshine any triplet from any other conference and USC is a top school.

But they are members academically. The CIC allows students to take classes at all the BIG 10 schools including Chicago/ Hopkins. I don't think the Pac 12 has anything like it. Plus the research budgets of the Big 10 schools dwarf the pac 12.

The ACC also includes Syracuse

Louisville, Florida State, Miami, NC State and Clemson all of which have had scandals

The ACC is an incoherent conference . The schools have nothing in common and do not help each other in any way other than playing games.

All of these posts bashing various schools and conferences are undoubtedly by the same sad clown.

He can post a few hundred more times and it's still not going to make College Park a desirable location or U. Md. a sought-after school.

Nice try .

Through up smoke to cover up a cheating racist institution.

True... It is a mess.

What Duke, Pitt, BC , NCstate, Virginia Tech , Miami , Syracuse, Louisville , Unc , Wake Forest , Clemson , Florida State have in common? Very Odd.

But but but... Andy Griffith and Michael Jordan are smart!! They really are!!

Be sure not to use google , the universal product code at the store , wear Underarmour or Nautica, listen to Sirius satellite radio , use gasoline with an octane rating , watch a weather report with Dopplar radar, watch Seinfeld , let the kids see the muppets , land in a plane with retractable landing gear or go to a stadium with a Jumbotron, put Nixon back in office. Or you will be building up UMD too much!!

Have fun watching Andy Griffith and watching Air Jordan historical clips! Or whatever UVA alum have produced( I can't find anything ... It's hilarious)
