Congrats to all those accepted! It's amazing how a school can go from being a "safety" on DCUM conversations to a 400+ waitlist. From what I've heard from Lee and other schools, the waitlists are barely moving. I guess people are just accepting their lottery schools as their own and moving on.

Lee's waitlists are short. I don't even think they are beyond 100 let alone 400.

According to the dcpcsb.org website lee has over 200 students wait listed. Next time you try to get snarky make sure your facts are correct.

200 is closer to 100 than to 400.

Wrong is wrong and right is right. So get it right or pipe down and take your assigned seat in the peanut gallery troll. And btw snarky is always ugly.

Does anyone know where Lee students will be in the temporary Shaed building? I heard on the first floor, but then I heard on several floors on one side of the building?

Part of two floors walled off from IT with its own entrance.

I'm not being snarky. I have had several conversations with the Lee folks about the length of their wait list and I know for a fact that it is nowhere near 400. I havent' tallied the different numbers on the list for each grade, but based on what they told me - 40 for kindergarten (now down to 30) for example I figured it didn't go much beyond 100.

Since this is anonymous, is anyone currently enrolled in Lee pk3 who is well positioned on other waitlists or has other options they are likely to leave for? I'd love a better sense of our odds of getting off the wait list (currently it best shot at a placement).

Don't overthink it. They're swamped with the actual work of enrollment and managing the WL, not to mention everything associated with moving.

Instead of emailing, why don't you call and speak to someone and volunteer to lead the outreach. Tell them you're planning a "Welcome Playdate" and pick a date and time and location. Use a local park. Tell them you'd like to share it with all current and potential families. Post it on DCUM, but ask them to simply forward your message. They'll be grateful for the outreach effort and community building, and so will everyone who can make it. After that, you can exchange emails or set up a google group or something. Take charge and own it.

Not PP but she said she emailed about the wait list- which I'm assuming means her kid is on the WL and not currently accepted. Which might make it awkward were she try to arrange meet and greets...

What number are you? Lee staff have been very open with their thoughts on how far the waitlist might move.

No dog in this fight, but I drive past the school frequently. It has access to really nice playing fields and is in a pretty quiet neighborhood. This is a pretty desirable spot to land in, very lucky to have a facility that is truly designed to be an elementary school. Good luck to Lee!

I heard that someone with a number in the low teens was told they had a 50/50 chance a few days ago. That said, I'd expect more movement than that with a brand new school. They've only moved a few places for PK3 so far. I know of one person with a great number at a school that they'd prefer who is currently enrolled at Lee for PS3 and expecting to bail.
