It's more than just music, like I mentioned in passing in my post. I feel like my life experience is very different from everyone I meet. It's hard to elaborate.

White woman raised in pg county here, and I think I know what youre talking about. I dont have many black friends, but I also cant stand white people who dont have the same background as me.

They have been known to go skipping down the sidewalk holdings hands, pigtails flapping in the wind, singing "I Got a Man" and "Baby Got Back" and "Push It" and "'Round the Way Girl."

Man, this is good. My kids are little but I'm going to start teaching them now with my old CDs in the car.

How very sad and narrow-minded of you.

37 year old, white woman. My collection of CDs is majority hip hop. Tribe called Quest, method man, das efx, tupac, biggie, jay z, outkast, mobb deep, common, dmx, salt n pepa....and more. I was listening to 95.5 and 93.9 when most of my friends were into grunge in the early 90s. They were singing nirvana and I was singing, "you could go with this, or you could go with that...."

I'd be friends with you, OP. EPMD, GangStarr, Eric B and Rakim? Or, Total, Monifah, and Dru Hill?
