I'm with you, OP! Luckily, most of my friends love it, too.

And everyone I know still says "bamma."

70% of rap music is purchased by whites. So no, you are not the only one.

Do you sing ALL of the words or do you listen to the clean version. Gotta be careful what you sing out loud, especially DMX.

Old school rap only. And a lot of that was NOT anti-female, but empowering instead. Hate most everything done in the past 10 years though.

I'm a late 30s mom who listens to rap, r&b, punk, hard rock, singer/songwriters, and some pop.

My friends know what I listen to because I go to concerts often. I go to different types of concerts with different friends. It all works out.

It's more than just music, like I mentioned in passing in my post. I feel like my life experience is very different from everyone I meet. It's hard to elaborate.

NP here, no I think PP got it right. You are 19. No 39 year old writes this self-indulgent nonsense.

Old DC slang for nerd.

Why is it that when white people use urban slang, they're always at least 10 years late?

Late? I'm 39. Been saying it all my life. And he is a bamma with his scrawney ass with no shirt on, no muscles, hat backwards or to the side omg. . He just is.

no

just no

No one uses bamma anymore.

I work in an alt setting. Kids are NOT using bamma - haven't in YEARS!

I'm a white 48 yr old mom, I listen to Iggy Azalea - does that count? Love Beastie Boys too - but they're old school.

Rap/hip hop: the roots, the artist formerly known as mos def, old school snoop and dre, beasties boys, old school ice cube, tribe called quest, wutang clan, and giving Kendrick Lamar a whirl.

38 year old white woman.

No, you are not special or unique.

50--listen to old school rap (80s-90s) and drum 'n' bass and techno. My friends don't get it, but that's fine.

You sound narcissistic and self-absorbed.
