I'm spending money like a drunken sailor

I don't think the OP was bragging. More a cry for help.

Feel guilty if you aren't paying your credit card off at the end of the month. Otherwise, enjoy.

That's nothing. I just dropped 10k for patio furniture. 4k for a new mattress. 3k for a restaurant dinner after sons confirmation. That was in the last month.

I really hope there were a couple hundred people in attendance.

$75 a head? Wow. What a waste. For a confirmation?

She just spent $10k for patio furniture, what do you expect? What kind of furniture? Is it made of gold? How can you possibly spend that much money for patio furniture?

That's odd. What's even more odd is that you really haven't spent much.

And here come the assholes.

Sounds like a lot to me.

I got a puppy a month ago and it's been crazy how much money I've spent. Besides getting all the basics, I also have had 2 emergency vet visits already. I'm using one credit card for her just so I have some idea what I'm spending.

It's polluting and tacky.

I want a big round stone one, not a little metal one. I have an acre plus of trees and picking up the tree limbs is driving me crazy. Would rather burn them.

you are still going to have to pick up the tree limbs? you know, to bring them to the fire pit....?

true, but that seems easier than dragging all the way to the front curb and stacking for the trash guys. plus more fun. fire is cool.

It's probably made of teak.

Could be cast aluminum, my MIL paid 450 per chair for that.

So long as your budgeted for it, OP, you're fine!

I know unusual expenses are sometimes scary.

When we bought our house, gutted the ground floor and renovated it top to bottom, I had to make a ton of house decisions daily and spend money like water. It became slightly overwhelming at times, yet I wanted to oversee and choose and mange everything myself. Result - I love my furnishings and design, and living in "my" house makes me extremely happy.

We've been in our house for 10 years now and it seems this is the year when everything decides to break. We;ve had to replace the following:
over the range microwave
outdoor gas grill
dyson vacuum cleaner
washer
door spring on dishwasher broke
money going out more than usual, plus I have to replace all 4 tires on the car..
tough couple of months..

I understand that you might not buy that sort of furniture but are you this unaware? We purchased from Janus et Cie and I wish our damage was only $10k. Not everyone's experience is the same, remember?
