These posters had also indicated, either in those messages or previous messages, that they had not been in the zoo. Other posters who said they were in the zoo, posted conflicting statements. The OP of this thread responded that she had been 500 (feet or yards, I don't remember) from the gate and asked if that qualified her to comment. I said, "yes", she could comment on what she saw, but she could only comment on what happened inside the zoo if she had been inside the zoo. It turns out that she was outside the zoo and freaked out at my response.

The OP of this thread then posted a series of posts attacking me, much like her post here. I did not remove messages describing events that were posted by people that appear to be witnesses to those events. As a review of the thread will show, those posts still exist.

I have definitely noticed Jeff has been actively moderating lately. Maybe I didn't notice it before, but it seems that Jeff has stepped up the moderating a bit lately.

It is, however, a very large forum. With only one moderator, the moderating is bound to be a bit uneven. He moderates the threads that he notices or are brought to his attention. Other forums that I've posted on have multiple moderators. They do seem to be pretty universally unpopular, of course. All moderators seem to be unpopular when they are moderating.

I get that. No dispute here. My point is that there are way too many Black vs. white threads in Off Topic that are very racist and just rooted in ignorance but they are never locked. You're right. I don't have to visit the site or comment but when an East vs. West Bank thread gets locked post haste and the Black vs. white threads are allowed to continue... one wonders.

I described what my kid and I had experienced, including a helicopter on top, sirens, people running out, and that dissapeared too. You were not trying to protect civility. You were trying to bias the reporting of a story by censoring out actual Woodley neighbors and promoting your own views. Where were you exactly when the shooting took place?
