Yes. So good that I actually bought the book so I could see what happens next.

I just watched last night's episode tonight. Love Jamie Lannister's loyalty to his brother. Are he and John Snow the only honorable characters now?

Sometimes I feel this way too about Jamie Lannister. But then I remember that he pushed Bran off the wall when Bran caught Jamie and Cesei doing it while they were visiting Winterfell.

I don't remember where but I read a great article with George RR Martin where he talked about this and described it as Jamie doing this out of honor. Think about it: he's doing something that if discovered and proven would get him, his family, and his children (with Cersei) killed. So it's horrible but he does it to protect his own family. Which, if we are being honest, we'd all do too if faced with the same thing.

They should rename the show: "Everyone Must Die".

Oh please. Kill a child to protect my illicit relationship? No I would not.

Yes. And he's also screwing his sister. So, that kind of tarnishes the appeal as well.

And, if I remember the scene correctly, he didn't seem to hesitate about it or struggle with the decision.

and he basically raped cersei next to his dead son's corpse/coffin. so he may have some redeeming traits but he's got plenty of evil in him too.

The whole point is that everyone is bad and/or weak on the show (except for Bran). The Starks are loyal to a fault and they end up dead because of it.

22:19 here. Okay, okay, you all had to remind me Jamie threw Bran out the window. But maybe he is changing his ways now? Oh wait, the rape scene at Geoffrey's wake. Okay, forget it.

Off the topic of Jamie, where is Rickon? Last I remember he went off with the wildling girl. Odd he hasn't been mentioned once this season.

Please, no spoilers. I. Just wondering if I missed something from a prior episode.

you are correct that rickon and the wildling have not been shown this season. weren't they going to the wall so that jon snow could protect rickon? i guess we are to assume they are on the journey.

I think this is a good observation, although I don't think I'm in total agreement. Many of the characters are (are have been while they were with us) decent in the sense that they conduct their affairs for some greater good. Despite this, they do make some bad decisions. And sometimes, in their eyes, the end justifies the means. There are other characters who are rotten to the core.

I think HBO is just following GRRM's lead. I don't think Rickon's story has been picked back up in the books yet, since he and Bran split up.

We get a hint of where Rickon is at the end of book 5, but he was totally absent from several books before that.

NP here, and in reading the books I think you find Jamie a lot more sympathetic around this point in the story (where the show is now..) The rape scene was not a rape scene but consensual in the book for one, and even though he pushes Bran in the beginning- you start to feel that Jamie has done everything in his life till this point- all for Cersei and his love for her (however inappropriate) and now he is beginning to realize she doesn't do the same for him...
