Any new LAMB parents?

Hi there! Welcome to the school! We live in Eckington and are at the MO campus. We'd be open to carpooling.

We live in Petworth and our daughter will also be in PK3 at MO, and we look forward to connecting with other families. I just learned when I called to ask a question that they will be having an open house/tour/Q&A at both campuses on Monday at 9:00 a.m. for accepted (and waitlisted?) families, so maybe we'll see some of you there?

I know everyone says that communication from the school is not great, so I'm trying to be zen about it, but I find it frustrating that they haven't sent an email or otherwise communicated about the open houses, particularly when I emailed the contact they gave us to say that I am interested in touring the campus! It seems that had I not called and tracked someone down, we wouldn't have known about it. sigh. I figured I would share this info here in case others are in the same boat.

This is really frustrating! We were accepted and I filled out confirmation form earlier this week, but I have heard nothing from the school.

Welcome to LAMB. This is typical. Great school despite this - but it isn't going to change.

I had the same complaints when we started there. In 2004. Spent more time on PTO 'communications committees' than I care to tally. After a few years you accept it, or leave. Perhaps if the administration ever changes, this will too.

I just talked to someone at LAMB's Missouri Avenue campus and they said they took the first seven people from the PK4 results lists. The woman also suggested checking in after May 1 and then every other week to find out about openings.

Same exact thing happened to me. Glad I called today. We'll be there on Monday too!

Call and try to talk to Cristina today, or just show up at 9am on Monday!

If I didn't hear anything from Cristina re the open house tomorrow, should I just show up to MO campus at 9am? I called and emailed but heard nothing. The person at front desk confirmed there's an open house planned. No clue why I haven't heard from her since I had told her a few times I was looking forward to an open house. Really frustrating.

You should go. LAMB is wonderful despite the incompetence regarding communication.

Any reports on the LAMB open house? We couldn't make it and would love to hear what people thought.

realize this is an old thread, but does anyone know if there will be anything planned for new lamb families, like a playdate or meetup in a park?

I don't know, we are also a new family. Hoping to hear more about it soon!

There will be a back to school play date for new and returning primary students tentatively scheduled for August 27th. Be sure to join the parent list-serve and will receive all of the information. Welcome to LAMB!!

That's too bad. We had hoped from something sooner than the weekend just before the first day of school... How do we join the parent list serve? We just started receiving general back to school info from the admin about a week ago.

Another new family. We would love to organize something sooner than the 27th too!
