OP here. So that's basically my conclusion from last night. This was on metro. I saw one twenty-something in nude pantyhose and then several women between mid twenties to forty in black hose. These women were not all together in a group, which strengthens your argument pp.

Black sheer hose makes most legs look sexy.
I get my info from everywhere... fashion week shows, traveling fashion hotspots, reading endlessly about it, analyzing designers collections, analyzing fit, noticing who wore what where...I could go on but I have work to do.

I wear all sorts of hose and tights. I like hose/tights with a bit of interest so try to go for nude on nude pattern, but its hard to find good ones. Personally, I think that unless its the middle of July I will wear hose. Bare legs look unprofessional. I just can't get myself to do it in the workplace. On the weekends its fine, but in this weather you look like as a$$ not wearing hose. I remember being a teenager and not zipping my jacket because it wasn't "cool." I'm old enough (though only 32 to know that crackassery is silly. No reason to get frost bite for fashion.

Yes! Lol , I'm 35. It was always the older, hippy women that wore tights and flowy garb.

Amen to everything you said. Nude on nude pattern is a spectacular way to get a bit of interest and be neutral and professional. I have a pair of nude, very tight fishnets that are amazing. You just see a bit of pattern and it looks very nice.

I think it's the word "hose" that makes that type of garment sound soooo unappealing. Hose. It just sounds dreadful.

Wool tights keep a person very warm. These days, I do feel kind of unfashionable wearing them, though, unless they're under boots.

Hose and tights absolutely feel different. For one thing, I can wear tights more than once but hose always run within one or two wearings.

Then call them stockings. Problem solved.

PP here: Meh. None of this is actually an issue for me. Thank goodness I can wear pants, mostly, through the cold months.

Can someone recommend a brand/style of sheer black hose?

Bloomingdales shoe salesman informed me sheer black is the way to go right now. Nude hose are acceptable too, but less current according to this guy.

Agree with this and do think the credit (or blame) goes to Kate Middleton. Saw a Hollywood starlet on the red carpet recently with sheer black hose. Reminds of my high school dances but I still think it's back.

I read that nude pantyhose are out, but neutral tights are in. Are neutral tights the same color as nude pantyhose?
