| I always see young women wearing flats or pumps with bare legs... even in THIS weather! I don't get it. Aren't you freezing? These are women taking Metro, not going from car to garage to office. They're walking in the 30 degree street with bare legs. Frostbite, anyone? |
Neither tights nor hose really do anything to keep your legs warm. |
+1000. Hose make you look old and tired. |
But it certainly helps some. Bare legs in freezing weather look utterly ridiculous. At least wear some black tights. |
New England cheerleader here. For an early snowy football season, it absolutely helped to wear hose or tights. Agree with everyone about bare legs in this weather looking ridiculous. Hose or tights are the way to go. Or wear pants. |
Ok, genius - suppose some woman likes this dress. (not my style, but for some . . .). She loves the electric blue and would like to wear it in December. According to you, she should avoid pantyhose at all costs, opting instead to keep her legs bare or to wear tights. Since it's winter, I'm assuming tights are in order. Please share tights that would look FUCKING FANTASTIC with this electric blue Jersey wrap. Sheer black hose is in. Nude- not in.

Where did you get this information, slave?

Genius here - you can buy tights in evey frickin color you want. Even this electic blue. I would pair with another bright color for a mix and match. For example just bought magenta and coral tights from target. Trust me I know what in talking about. You don't have To go frumpy and do nude stockings. |
OP here. So that's basically my conclusion from last night. This was on metro. I saw one twenty-something in nude pantyhose and then several women between mid twenties to forty in black hose. These women were not all together in a group, which strengthens your argument pp. |
I've been wearing tights all winter and they've been keeping my legs warm except for those days where the high was 17 degrees. Maybe you just have cold legs? |
| OP here again- I'm not the 'hose fetishist' whoever that is. I'm wondering because I just bought several pairs of tights last week and then thought I was out of style last night. Haven't even opened the tights yet! |
| Anyone remember when hose were in but tights were only worn by older, non-fashionable women? Well, I am now 41 and I rock tights every day. Lol. |
No, not particularly. It just always seemed like a placebo more than anything. But the last time I wore tights or hose (I wear pants pretty much exclusively now in the winter) was in high school in the Midwest. That layer doesn't cut it against -15 temps, and that's what I remember. |
great answer So women can walk around looking like Christmas lights |
