Is it the school culture along with admissions? Kind of like how some professions seem to attract a certain personality type. |

So sad, seems the Nepali girl had a lot going for her, smart, med school, and extremely attractive. Killed by some evil wench.
It's hard to say what the motive could have been. I read that the parents oldest daughter died last year also. I feel really horrible for them. |
Not really. When kids kill one another at Maryland and Morgan State, it just gets less attention from the DCUMmies, particularly if black students are involved. |
That's not true, Wa Po is very good about reporting murders at these schools. Maybe Va Tech needs to start doing psych evals with the admission process. Va Tech probably stands out more to due to the mass murder there a few years ago though. |
Yes. Not to excuse anything that went or goes on there, but it is unfortunate that people write it off when it's also a great school (as many of its students and grads can attest to). Oh well, I am biased

ya know, hate to say it, but where's there's smoke there's fire. Too bad |
You all would have been jumping up and down if a Black person would have killed this girl. But when it comes to White person murdering some other race you will try and find all kind of excuses. Asians are not better than whites, but whites cannot bear the achievements of the Asian kids - they will laugh about it and minimize it and are plain jealous about it. Whites think that their kids should get these accolades. I say that only white parents have 5 star ambitions for their kids, while the kids will put in 1 star effort . Now go ahead and vilify this victim and make a case for why she deserved to be killed by a white girl. |
Wow, what a racist pig you are. How many Indians and Indian Americans do you know? I'll bet they would all say that you are unfriendly, unwelcoming and discriminatory based on your ridiculously broad assertion. |
| Very sad. I read about her sister also dying in an accident in Nepal. The poor parents have lost both of their children. Heartbreaking. |
Oh stop. There is no evidence linking Knox to the crime scene, much as you might wish it. |
Or maybe her friend had psychotic break - about the right age for onset... |
Yes, her older sister attended college in Nepal and was killed 5 years ago when a friend took her to school on his motorcycle and had an accident. He survived, she did not. Another lovely girl. Those poor parents, my heart breaks for them. |
Good grief you two. I posted the comment about "no motive yet". Because I'm sitting here thinking what on EARTH could have caused anyone to murder such a promising young woman? Who, from her make up free, glasses earing, dorm room picture and description, doesn't seem like she was living any sort of risky lifestyle. Understanding how a crime occurred sometimes gives me a (false) sense of being able to prevent it happening again, to me or my daughters who both want to go to VT. Don't we all struggle with "why" when a tragedy strikes? You guys are disgusting. |
UVA assholes---Hugely/Yardley murder. |
Good riddance! Signed, Hokie Nation |
