Actually, not with a rear-facing convertible car seat behind the passenger...or, perhaps there was some car seat that would have worked, but the one we had didn't, and the Mini was getting pretty old, so...just saying that a Mini Cooper could work, but it wouldn't necessarily be the best choice. |
This hardly seems like it is out of the question. Not everyone flies to the Bahamas for vacation. |
Too bad you already won the dumbest post ever. |
Yes. I recommend a hatchback though. We have a Prius and two teenage boys, on of which plays the double bass. We can fit our family of four plus the dog or we can fit three of us and the bass. The Rav-4 and CRVs also fit 3 and a bass, so they didn't give us any extra. |
We were determined to make it work with our Mini Cooper because we love that car. It was more than doable with the baby in the infant seat, but once we installed the convertible (after tons of research on what seat would reasonably fit behind the passenger) there was that long DUHHHHH moment where we realized that even though the seat fit, we had to climb in/out of the backseat while holding the baby. Again, doable, but in heels, with pump bag, laptop, diaper bag....became an ever-increasing pain in the ass. For you, the sedan will be FINE, plenty of space and an absolute luxury if you've previously had to deal with a two-door...however, with the small SUV you will get a little more head clearance for getting the baby in/out, and in my opinion the hatchback makes all the difference with loading and unloading groceries and gear while also juggling the kid. These are *conveniences*. As PP's are noting, any car can work. How much do you value convenience? How much do you hate hassle? How much do you drive vs. walk/public transport? |
GASP! Luggage in the backseat! They might mistake you for a poor!! |
| We have two kids - I drive a sedan and husband drives an SUV. Both work about the same - back seat is full of car seats with room for an adult to squeeze between them in a pinch. If you're envisioning driving a million kids around, I'm pretty sure that means you need a minivan. |
| Of course. We have two kids and have never had anything larger than a sedan. |
A poor in a Mercedes. |
Could be stolen...you know how those 95 percenters are. |
At first I started to laugh because I thought this post was trying to be ironic- then I laughed harder when I realized the poster was being serious. |
| One or Two kids - ok with sedan. 3 or more - no |
Now I'm completely confused about who is being ironic and who is being serious. |
I have had three (including twins) in the back of my Accord for a few years. A CRV really does nothing to make that scenario better. Unless you are going into a much bigger SUV, there is not much more convenience. |
