The real reason for our infertility

That is not a fair comment. Some guys do things differently.

I agree. We don't know anything about him. My guess is that a fair amount of circumcised men have this problem. And no, I'm not some rabid anti circ crazy, I just had a friend once who dealt with it and my hunch was that he lost a good amount of his most sensitive tissues. That, or maybe he had a porn addiction. :-/

We used the turkey baster method (ok, not a baster but a small syringe to get pregnant twice. At age 37 and 40. Why pay for it? Def give it a try.

Op here - Thanks to the positive posters for your encouragement and advice. DH is on-board, so we are trying the at home method this month with a combination of early morning sex backed up by my diva cup and the small needleless syringes. Fingers crossed. I made an appt for SG in late October, too but would be thrilled to cancel it.

If you go this route (we have), go for Cialis. It starts working in 17 minutes vs Viagra's 30 minutes. (DH still cannot finish sometimes aaaaannnd the sex for 1+ hours gets old fast.)

I say it is my job "stress," but the truth is that while my husband and I have a fairly decent, enjoyable, and active sex life, he has trouble finishing during intercourse. He can finish, but not every time, and usually not from intercourse alone. We have a referral for Shady Grove (I commented on the "39 year old's fertility" thread) and we already did the basic testing. My tubes are open, my egg reserve is fine, I am ovulating monthly, his sperm count is fine, they are shaped properly, and they can swim. All looks good - but if sperm can't get to egg... we won't get pregnant.

I am seriously considering using OPK's and the turket baster method at home. I think my DH thinks I'm crazy - but AI or IUI in the doctor's office seems much worse. Has anyone tried this?

He's not alone.

I think the syringe is a better idea than the baster-- I don't know about the rest of you, but whenever I've tried to use a turkey baster for conventional things, I end up spilling hot grease all over the kitchen. I don't think they work that well! Good luck, OP.

Another rec for instead softcups. I think these helped me get my bfp. Good luck!

I use a Diva cup, but not for conceiving. It's too far from he cervix. The Instead cup is shaped more like a diaphragm.

A baby medicine syringe and an Instead cup has been successful for me several times. Trying to insert a full Instead cup sounds disastrous and messy. Use the syringe, insert the cup and take it out several hours later, or the next morning.

Good luck!

Would your DH be open to receiving acupuncture? This is one of those cases where it would be especially helpful for the male partner to get treated. Acupuncture can be really helpful with these types of male sexual issues and you can reassure him that none of the needles would go in his privates

Op...is there a way that is easier for him to ejaculate? Can you maybe use your hand until it is amost time and then have him finish inside? We had to use this method.

I'm the OP - It worked! I got a BFP this morning.

OPK + Morning Sex + BJ + Baby Syringe + Diva Cup = BFP
