neighbors ivy creeping in through fence

Anyway, OP, aside from the post's idiot thinking they are amusing when they most definitely are not - my friend was cited by local and federal environmental agencies when the neighbor video taped him poisoning (what turned out to be the neighbors) property

That neighbor also had the earth sampled, as well as some other tactics. Apparently it is very easy to find certain chemicals in the soil.

I know that neighbor had a lawyer - not sure what kind - but a very good one. My friend did not stand a chance.

Cue the post idiot again, as I suspect they have nothing of value to addd to anyone's life, particularly their own spouse, who is ignoring them once again.

The ivy spray can be sprayed on your
Property and will kill the entire plant

They can tell what the ivy was killed with. Cutting = good. Poison = bad.

Where in gods name does your friend live? What kind of neighbor videotapes an has soil samples taken? Jesus. 99.99999% of the time no one is getting fined for spraying legal weed killer on their property. Sounds like your friend trespassed and dumped chemicals on what must have clearly been a batshit neighbor. I'd say your friend was the idiot.

I hope that's a joke. I would be furious if someone used my garbage can for this. In fact, I told my DH off when we were dating because he thought it was perfectly fine to deposit his empty ice cream cup in someone's home garbage can that was out for collection. News flash: it's not fine. Those cans are private property. If you wouldn't dump your dog poop on their front lawn, don't put it in their garbage can, either.

You told off your boyfriend for using a trash can? You're lucky he didn't get scared off. A garbage can on the curb: who would really care about a little piece of garbage getting tossed inside???!

Spray on what? Can you complete a sentence? Never mind give proper advice? Wow.

PPs are saying that they do not want to clean up after your low class messes - dog crap OR poison. Is this so hard to understand? How dense are you? A rhetorical question of course.

If either of you has a dog or other outside pet, be cautious.

SOO over the entitled dog owners. Keep your dog's shit to yourselves!!!

If you spray you have to "post" that you sprayed in most jurisdictions. The little warning flags are usually sufficient. (Assuming you don't have a hostile neighbor that will actually steal the flags - I've seen it - talk about crazy).

And (you already know this if you have a brain)- it has to be on your OWN property. No exceptions, or you will be in deep water. (Again, I've seen it. Certifiable, indeed.)

Just be happy that your neighbor does not have BAMBOO growing into your yard instead!

What about this: neighbor plants fancy flowering vine on the other side of our fence, where we can't see it. The fence belongs to us -- on our side of the property line and we put it in.

DH goes out to cut an dpull ivy that's creeping in from her side to ours -- we had ivy too but ook it out and want to keep it away.

In the course of pulling the ivy and cutting it, he pulled a big hole in her flowering vine on the other side.

She's furious, called us practically screaming. We apologized profusely.

But it's our fence, and we were doing reasonable maintenance ....

My neighbors cut back the ivy that was growing on my fence and over to their side. Doing so killed it on my side and I was really pissed. Instead of beautiful green ivy I instead got to look at an old, gray, ugly fence. But what could I do? It was on their side so I dealt with it.

On the other side of my property (more street facing side) I have a beautiful white wood custom built fence, and the neighbors on that side let their ivy grow on it. I pull it down but it has caused serious structural damage that i had to repair to the tune of around $1000.

I have no idea what I'm trying to say here except this is a tricky situation between neighbors.
