I think these little girls look darling. And no, I am not Southern.

My daughter has worn them since the day she was born ( I wore a lilly robe in the hospital, Im sure that makes you gag as well) along with monogramed outfits & smocked dresses. I'm sorry if you find this so offensive, it makes my daughter happy. He favorite part of back to school clothes shopping was picking out new bows.

Sounds like you should have bought a doll instead of having a child.

I'm from the South, too, and I absolutely hate them, but then I also hate the look of smocked clothing on kids.

But here's what I REALLY can't stand: bows on young women. If you think I'm kidding, take a look at the college cheerleaders from any ACC or SEC school. These 19 - 20 -21 year old young women all have long hair pulled back by an enormous hair bow, stuck periously on the tops of their heads.

Who came up with that tacky idea?

I can't believe people like you really exist. Takes all kinds, I guess.

I thought the Russian hair bows were (or used to be) part of the school uniform for ceremonies and official occasions.

People... you are getting awfully worked up about a hair accessory.

Yep, I do exist, and I am usually the one looking at the girls in my DD's class who have messy hair, thinking, "Why don't their moms do their hair and let them go out of the house with their long hair all scraggly and all over the place????"

"Darling?" Sorry, but busted. Only a Southerner would use that word. And what's wrong with short, cute little bob haircuts on little girls? The tacky hair bows do control the tangled mess you are describing.

Because everybody knows that dads are completely incapable of brushing and braiding hair. That's why, if a girl has messy hair, it is always and exclusively the mother's fault.

Dads can do hair too. My dad could do our hair in ponytails. Dads, I am wondering why you too let your kids out of the house with messy, scraggly hair.

Nope. I am from Northern VA (McLean). So, I guess this can lead us into the question of whether Northern VA is southern or not, but. ..

Cute little bob haircuts - yes, those are fine too. In fact, my own DD has a short little bob hair cut (but no bangs) so we part it to the side and pull one side up and put a bow in it to keep it out of her eyes.
