| Frozen fruit and vegetables are your friend, they are washed and cut and you can just dump them into whatever you are making. I just put them in a pan, maybe with a little water, or scramble them into eggs. For fruit I defrost blueberries in hot water and add to cereal. They don't go bad and are easy to stock up on. I just ate scrambled eggs with kale and peas and cheddar for lunch. |

What's the deal with diet soda? Why cut it out? I drink a ton of it. But I'm getting to point that I don't even like the taste anymore. What other kind of caffeine can I drink? |

As for what is a better way to get your caffeine fix, honestly, I would say tea. Green tea is good. Black tea is good. Neither of them are going to be SWEET, so it'll take time to get used to. A healthier strategy would be to wean off caffeine all together, but speaking as the woman sitting at her desk with an iced coffee right now, I understand that that may not be realistic. |

What has worked for me:
1) tracking calories via an app called My Fitness Pal 2) weighing myself daily 3) coffee, coffee and coffee 4) Greek nonfat yogurt 5) turkey hotdogs 6) cutting out bread, rice and pasta for first 2 wks 7) skipping breakfast so that I fast for 15 hrs in a row (for me from 9pm to noon) 8) have cut fruits and veggies and low fat cheese sticks on hand for snacking 9) Pirate booty cheese puffs You can do it! |
Skipping breakfast is incredibly unhealthy. There was a study that came out yesterday about how bad it is. Not great for weight loss either. |

I often need a group to keep me accountable with the change - so weight watchers is a good thing. The people in the meetings are either trying to lose weight or are trying to keep it off - lots of help and support there. Once you have a few friends who are in it with you, they'll help keep you on track. Doing it alone is HARD. Weight watchers also has a lot of educational materials to help you make better choices, but not to cut out everything you enjoy.
Don't weigh yourself daily - that becomes an emotional rollercoaster. Weekly weigh-ins are sufficent. |

OP, you have some great advice in this thread and I wish you the very best in making all the changes you want to.
This is a minor point, but one that motivates me, and since motivation is so important in making changes, I'm sharing. A previous poster mentioned the fitbit. Yes, it's expensive. But seriously, tracking my steps and setting small goals based on that tracking has helped me increase my activity. It's a small thing, but it is a small and manageable thing, which is kind of critical when you want to make a big change. |
