When I was a kid in summer whenever there was any water available myself, my brothers and all our friends were all naked. This was up til about 6 or 7, I think. It was completely normal and fun.

This was typically when we didn't have swim suits handy though, not sure why kids would take off swim suits to do it. If the kids are comfortable, I don't see why it's a problem. Kids love to be naked and haven't picked up on their parents hang-ups by that point.

Why do we always associate nakedness with perversity? There is nothing wrong with this situation, in fact, I applaud all the parents who attended for allowing their kids to be kids and have fun, clothed or not.

The more we draw attention to nudity, the more we teach our kids to care about seeing something as innocuous as Janet Jackson's nipple.

The reality is that in the countries where there is a lot naked bathing the women are generally very small hipped and small on top. This happens through genetics, obviously, but also french women are skinnier because they smoke. A lot. So, the less voluptuous the female population, the more nude bathing. Because a flat chested woman seems less sexualized.

Exactly! I can't believe people are talking about how perverse this is. These are children! Most adults are not sex offenders. My 2 year old daughter is naked outside all the time (in our backyard, and it isn't visible to the street/other houses, but still...). Who cares? My 5 year old son sometimes runs around naked as well.

Why make a big deal out of this? They are KIDS...

I resisted until my girls were one of the few wearing suits. I finally let them stip down as well. The kids ranged from around 2 to 9 and were boys and girls. I was really uncomfortable with other parents seeing my girls naked

While I don't care one way or the other if kids (up to a certain age) want to skinny dip, the fact that you caved to peer pressure to do something that was very uncomfortable for you is very disturbing. If you cannot stand up to peer pressure, how are you going to teach your children to do so?
