45 minutes in Rockville at 11 AM. The lady I was talking to in line said she had voted at that polling station for over 30 years and had never seen that kind of a line. Also, my neighbor was volunteering as a poll worker there and he told me the line was literally around the block at 8 AM.
Yaay. I think that no matter who you are voting for, high voter turnout is terrific! There was also a guy who was probably around 19 or 20 voting for the first time and his mom was there taking photos. Very cute. |
I went at 2pm to lafayette (dc). no line except for touch screen. 5 minutes. |
I agree. The media loves to report on drama and shock-value stories. There really wasn't much of a story with my voting precinct (22031). The line was long and slow, but it moved and it was only about a 35 min. wait and that was during the 8am hour which was suppose to be a peak time. I've waited longer in the DMV line and nobody ever seems to balk at their lack of efficiency. |
Yes, you can sign an identification affirmation note. The guy in front of me was doing that (it held up the line until an official asked him to move over and let the people behind him go past him) |
Zip code 22315, kingstowne...no lines whatsoever...walked up to the table to check in, then right to the touch screen! Took longer to park and walk into the building! That was at 9:30 this morning. |
Five-minute wait in 20008 at 8:40am. Ditto when I took a friend to the polls in 20009 (U Street) at around 1pm.
The people at Cake Love ($1 off cupcake when you show your "I Voted" sticker!) said that there were huge lines at the 14th and U polling place first thing in the morning. |
Yay everyone, for voting! |
I saw a woman nearly get cleaned up by a car running out of a school after voting. |
I got to drop off my mail in ballot (figured it was safer to bring in person than mail it) without even having to get out of my vehicle. Colorado Springs. |
Just had to say -- I think it is so great that parents take their children to set a good precident for later years and set a good example for how important it is to exercise your right to vote. |
My husband and I voted "absentee" in Arlington Friday. It took 1 1/2 hours from start to finish but it was worth it since I commute long distance and didn't know if I'd make it back to Arlington in time to vote today. Sounds so cheesy but I feel privileged to have the right to vote considering that my great-grandmother didn't and citizens of other countries still don't. I've never missed a vote!

No wait in Arlington at 12:30. Apparently some 40,000 Arlingtonians voted early, which is amazing. |
Two hour wait just before noon. We took our son and went together as a family. It was a long wait but he was a trooper. At the end he said, "When I'm bigger can I vote?" It was fun to go together. |
I went at 10:45 in Prince George's County. Took my 3 year old. We had about a 1 and 3/4 hour wait, but they had chairs set up, and a lot of parents were there with kids, so it wasn't TOO bad, and everyone was in good spirits.

Geez, they need some more polling stations in Wheaton! I went at 10 am and there was a 2 hour wait! I left, came back at 2:00, and waited an hour. I hate to think what the line was like before and after work! |
