Did YOU vote? How did it go?

N. Arlington here -- took me 1 hour 20 minutes at 6am; my husband was in an out in 10 minutes when he arrived at 8:15am.

Alexandria voter - 22302 zip. Got to the polling place at 8:20, expecting the worst (based on news reports). We were finished in less than 5 minutes. Poll worker told us that 610 people had voted at that point. Very well organized and efficient and fewer people than expected. It was a great experience for my 4 year old, who is super excited about helping me to "bote."

I voted in Springfield this morning. I arrived at 5:30 in preparation for a long line...and I found one. It moved fast after they opened the doors at 6:00 and I was out 20 minutes later.

I was shocked. I got there at 9:00 and there was no line at all! NADA! THere were people trying to shove their agendas in my face, but it took me less than 5 minutes to walk in the door, vote, put a sticker on my daughter and leave. This was in N. Arlington. HOORAY let the counting begin!

Fairfax. Line moved pretty well. However, you know those papers that they hand out in front of the building? The ones that show the straight democratic ticket, or the Republican one? I had mine in hand (it was Dem) and the lady checking us in got kinda short with me and made me put it away, and asked to see my ID. MEANWHILE someone had left a pink Republican sample ballot right there on the desk in front of her!

Does everybody have to show ID? I heard the people in front of me giving their names, didn't notice them being "carded". Thanks.

I'd be very surprised if they hadn't carded them.

I had all the candidates listed on one yellow sheet and I was carded. Everyone was nice except for the picketers outside who made me feel like I was going to pro-life rally instead of a voting booth.

I'm surprised they allowed picketers outside of a polling station. You can't even wear political clothing when you go to vote.

Nobody at my polling place was carded. 20008.

Close to 2 hour wait at my polling place in Capitol Hill and when I left about 10:30 am the line still looked long. But I will say that the poll workers were much better organized this time around. Normally they are lovely elderly ladies who take a fair bit of time getting you what you need. I love them, but they do take awhile! This time they had a few younger more efficient folks directing people to the right place as well. Made a big difference!

No one asked for my ID in MC, just DOB and address.

In VA, they ask for ID, but if you don't have it, you can sign a declaration saying you are who you say you are.

We must've voted at the same place. I woke up at 4:15 to make sure I had plenty of time to get there. I had to be home by 8 so my husband could leave for work. I drove by the school at 5 and the only people there were the poll workers. So I went back home for a while. I came back at 5:40 and was back home by 6:40. It wasn't bad at all. I was kind of curious about the choices of paper ballot or electronic.

Voted in old Greenbelt. There was a sign that said it would take 40 minutes from that point, but it only took 30. If I had waited 30 minutes longer, there would have been no line at all. I went in at 11:30.
