Nutella

My oldest hated it but I re-opened it the other day and she seems to have changed her mind. Unfortunately, I am not a chocolate lover but I would love a good caramel spread for toast. Anyone know of one?

La Salamandra dulce de leche. Amazing.

My favorite is on banana. Spread a little on before each bite, sometimes I alternate with peanut butter. Yummm.

I saw a Philadelphia cream cheese/caramel spread in the supermarket the other day. They also had chocolate.

I made a mental note.

Trader Joes sells a caramel sauce for ice cream that when refrigerated would make for a decadent caramel spread. It is rigth next to their hot fudge sauce (which is a great substitute for nuttella if you don't want the nuts- again put in fridge).

Ha! They got sued (and lost, I believe) for trying to say that.

I've made nutella-filled cupcakes with nutella frosting....AMAZING.

I find it way too sweet.

And, frankly, it's great as a treat but not for an actual meal. I was horrified to discover that my DH has been making nutella sandwiches for our 8-year-old's lunches. At least it's on wheat bread... Somehow I am going to have to try to break this habit.

Spoon it into hot oatmeal. Maybe put in some chopped pear or banana. Swoon.

Nutella on strawberries is a dream. Close second: Nutella on apple slices.

I won't admit how much of this combo was consumed during pregnancy.

OP- this will blow your mind- get a vanilla hazelnut spread! They have them at le pain quotidien, but I forget the name of it.

So yummy in a smoothie with banana, plain yogurt, and peanut butter! Also love it in homemade rice crispie treats...add in once the marshmallows are almost melted .
