| Yes, it is for-profit, but not sure if she is owner outright. |
| There is another owner but Randy could be in on the ownership- too.Just not a nice administration (Imo.) |
Either three people spell benefit with an i or its the same PP disgruntled ex-employee. Most preschools do not have benefits although most have decent pay. |

Miss Mary got a promotion which involved moving to the other Franklin location. Her replacement did not work out (I believe she was dealing with a rough family health situation and wound up leaving). Our DC is in another primary room and there hasn't been any turnover the entire time. As far as counseling students out, one chronically troublesome student can take one of the classroom teachers out of circulation as the teacher deals with the student, which just isn't fair to the other students. In DC's class, last year there was a kid who was a total pain in the ass and I frequently saw his bad behavior (I saw him hit teachers, for example) and how one or the other of the teachers was always having to deal with it. Thankfully he's not there anymore. So I think it's totally appropriate -- given that Montessori is not a good fit for every kid (which it isn't) -- to encourage certain students to find a better match.
We're very happy with Franklin. We'd be less happy if DC was in room 3 with the teacher changes, but if the assistant teachers stay the same then there's some continuity anyway. |
| Many preschools DO have benefits. And better pay than Franklin. This should especially be the case (Imo) when the owners have a few schools. |
Rough family situation? She was a disaster and was not a fit with the kids, and there were several parents that pulled their children out mid year. There should be continuity at least within a school year. And it is my understanding that the school knew Miss Mary was leaving well before they told anyone, which was before the school year started when they found out. This is dishonest, just to save money and prevent parents from walking prior to the school year starting. Just leaves a bad feeling. And Randy is downright nasty if you decide to pull your child out prior to completing 3 years in primary. I have friend that experienced this. Just be prepared. |
Can you elaborate? She must expend a lot of energy on nastiness since I imagine most families leave for the K year. |
| NP here...she does...I've seen it. She completely ices you out...no eye contact. Acts as if you don't exist. Yuck! |
| For those that left early, did Franklin give you a refund? |
No refund I dont think. |
Just wanted to say that we left earlier (did the 2 year old class and one year of the main class) to move DC into sibling's school, and Randy didn't say anything about it, nor did she behave differently towards us. She was always very pleasant in our experience. Our decision to move was basically convenience. |
The contract you sign says you need to give essentially 60 days notice, so you basically have to pay for an additional 2 months after you give notice. Then you are refunded any amounts you prepaid after that. |
Your posts stand out through this thread because you keep spelling benefits incorrectly. I find it worrisome that an educator cannot spell such a simple word, or at least learn how to use spell check. |

Randy has been very cold and furthermore unwilling to help when she finds out that you want to transfer schools, or not stay for the 5 year old year. I hear that in Room 3 the majority of kids are leaving, so will that class become a class of mostly 3 year olds? |
| we have a child in room 3. we were surprised but ultimately quite happy about the turnover. the current teacher -- Ms. Emilie -- is by far our favorite teacher -- within a week of her being in the class, our child was just bursting with excitement to read and do math, and our child has been thriving ever since. my sense is that there aren't many kindergarteners at Franklin school-wide, much less room 3. |
