Current parent here. I have a kid in 2s and would appreciate knowing what classroom it is before my child gets placed there next year. Thanks!

Plus, they counsel out all the kids that require more attention. At least at the Rockville location.

What do you mean by counsel out? That sounds ridiculous seeing we are talking about "Montesorri", each child working at their own pace...

Like any business, that has to happen from time to time. However, this is not the norm at Franklin. Our first went three years with the same teacher and only one change of assistant who left to pursue an advanced degree. Our second went into that same classroom with the same staff and is still there. All of my contact with the staff has been positive. I have been told repeatedly that it is a great place to work. Certainly, the staff are not bound to the school and the fact that out of at least 7 classrooms there has been significant turnover in only one is evidence that they are staying because they like working there. The school has a positive atmosphere because the people who work there are dedicated and happy.

I don't agree with this comment. "Any school has turnover". One teacher lasted 8 weeks! And it is unusual to have preschool teachers leave a classroom in the middle of the year.

I don't think Randy has handled the situation well. People are more open to the changes that happen if the staff are up front about the changes. And she has not been through the entire process. I agree it is still a great school, but the administration is a little dirty in my opinion.

Aren't all preschool salaries pretty low?

Not as low as at Franklin. And there are typically benifits at other schools. I speak from personal experience.

My DS was at Franklin last year, in room 3. The head teacher there then was amazing. Tht woman was born to be a Montessori teacher. She knew my son in and out, better then me!
I understand she got married and took a job at a different school.

We were supposed to have Ms. Mary in Room 3 and were not told that she wasn't coming back until weeks before school started. Her replacement was a complete nightmare and lasted only 8 weeks before she quit. The new teacher is fine. I just don't trust Randy anymore. She is a sneaky, conniving woman. I hear she has been quite nasty to families that are leaving the school prior to completing the 3rd year.

Isn't Franklin a for profit Montessori school? Is Randy the owner?
