| Is there anyone that has had to deal with the high turnover rate this year in the primary classroom? I saw that one classroom has had 3 different teachers in 1 year. That seems really disruptive to the students. I also heard that another class had a teacher leave, also in the primary program. |

Wow, I am at Franklin (in 2s) and I have not heard this. Were you notified of the changes?
That is very disruptive. |
| I think they have kept it pretty hush. But a parent of a child in that classroom told me. |
| Ex-employee here. Terrible pay and no benifits. |
| No teacher changes in my 2 year old's class last year and none (as of yet) in her primary class. |
| Which classroom? |
| Sometimes things happen that cannot be discussed because they are personnel issues. You never know. |
| My son has gone there both toddler and now primary. No issues at all. |
| I am a parent in that room. Yes, there was extreme turnover in the room. Several parents pulled their child out mid-year. A bit of a disaster. We stuck with it for the year but are pulling her out at the end of the school year. |
Wow. Did Randy give you your money back or did you have to wait the 60 days? Did you not like the new teachers? Which room is this? |
| Any school is going to have turnover. As I understand this thread, one classroom has had several changes in the last couple of school years. Like any business, that has to happen from time to time. However, this is not the norm at Franklin. Our first went three years with the same teacher and only one change of assistant who left to pursue an advanced degree. Our second went into that same classroom with the same staff and is still there. All of my contact with the staff has been positive. I have been told repeatedly that it is a great place to work. Certainly, the staff are not bound to the school and the fact that out of at least 7 classrooms there has been significant turnover in only one is evidence that they are staying because they like working there. The school has a positive atmosphere because the people who work there are dedicated and happy. |
| Has the school talked to the parents about their plans for fixing these issues? |
|
Or are any parents going to talk to Randy about it proactively?
Are parents happy with the current teachers in that room? |
|
Another parent from that class here...we too are leaving at the end of the year. No, Randy has not spoken to the parents about the turnover and what she will do to remedy it. The current teacher is fine, but the atmosphere at the school has changed. It has gotten colder in the last few years, IMHO...my child does not look forward to going to school each day.

| How can teachers be happy w/ poor pay and no benifits! |
