Wendy's cuts hours to dodge O-care

Everyone needs health insurance. If you're going to insist that health insurance also be a for-profit enterprise, then you can expect to pay more -- that "more" being the profit you are so determined to give to health insurance companies.

Support a single payer plan, and this all would go away.

And taking guns away from law abiding citizens will also prevent gun violence.

It's only one franchisee. He's an idiot. He'll have to hire more people to make up for the cut hours. Luckily his franchise is so big in the US or he'd run it into the ground with a move like this.

You do realize they still get health care -- and we all get to pay for it. Right?

The only ones that should get healthcare on the taxpayer's dime is the truly indigent. Illegals and those that are able-bodied? Not so much.

Untrue. Also anyone who is in need of immediate medical attention. If your uninsured self has a heart attack, we all pay for you.

Why is anyone surprised that they cut hours to avoid O'bamacare? That's exactly what everyone predicted would happen and it has been happening across the nation since the election. It's been in all the papers . . . . it's either that or increase the cost of the product and pass it on to you. You can't have it both ways.

Doesn't Mexico already have universal health care? And other countries? So they come here illegally, no health insurance, and expect the US taxpayer to foot the bill.

I have never gone without health insurance because I consider it a necessity. I put my priorities in place.

This isn't about immigrants. This is about Joe Bob who eats like crap, smokes like a chimney, and cuts costs by skipping health insurance. He's the one who ends up costing us a ton because there are many, many millions more of them.

Unfortunately lots of people do not consider it a necessity. They think they are healthy and they have a very weak ability to comprehend unspecified future risks.

If this is true it's just a stunt. Regardless of what crazy right-wing Repulicans may sincerely believe, good quality reliable workers are not so easily replaced. In our market economy companies looking to hire the best available employees will pay the little bit more which the Affordable Health Care Act may require. They will have better, happier, healthier employees and their businesses will prosper.

It's all just basic economics. But on the other hand we should all know by now the Republicans are not the party of knowledge, they are the party of Fear and Loathing.

If you think taping up a broken arm is universal health care and treating a cut with dirty water, then by all means, let me recommend Expedia.com....

Despite their poverty, Mexico's life expectancy is 76.2 Ours is only 78.2 and we are the richest country on earth. And they do this on an average cost of $675 per person per year. We are doing something terribly wrong.
