Help, my bra is about to kill me! 32dddd

I absolutely agree that Nordstrom has NO idea how to fit bras. I just went there and was told I was both a 34C and a 32D and that I should just "choose" which worked? They actually both fit pretty differently.

I ended up with a 32D that is definitely snug but I also tend to buy my bras too big (34) and then with stretching out they dont hold my boobs well but the band is certainly more comfortable than this 32 Ihave on now.

I bought the Natori brand just plain underwire cup with no padding. I aldo bought a few Simone Perles that were very comfy but not sure about the straps yet.

I hate bras and bra shopping. It sucks!

You should measure under your breasts around your ribcage. Some like to use that exact measurement for a band size, most will add about 4 inches to that for their band size. Using the exact measurement usually feels way too snug. I added 3 inches to mine and my bras are very comfortable on the loosest hook while still fitting properly, barely even feel like I'm wearing a bra. (27 inch ribcage, opted for 30 band size instead of 28)

Then, measure around your boobs, all the way to the "most sticking out" point (usually around the nips). If your saggy or deflated, have someone help you or use a counter or something to make your boobs stick up and out like they are supposed to if they had more tissue.

The difference between them is how you determine the cup size. There are some charts online that show this. I think the Breakout Bras site has one.

If you go down in band size, you go up in cup size and vice versa. (If I went for a 28 it would have been 28F)

To the OP, I would make sure your fitted properly and then try on different brands to find one that is comfortable for you. Definitely look for wider straps and a bra with at least 3 hook closures on the band. This will give you better support.

One of the PPs here. This is interesting because this is NOT AT ALL how I was measured at Nordstrom.

I wear either a 36C or a 34D. I prefer the 36C because it is less tight.

This place is awesome. I went there for undergarments to wear with my wedding dress and have been there several times since then. They specialize in hard to fit sizes such as your own.

Thanks for the replies (except the suggestion for surgery). I can't imagine measuring myself and ordering and returning bras! And, how do you actually know if it fits? I need someone who knows what they are doing to help me! I will try one of these stores mentioned and go there.

I agree with Intimacy--BUT you have to beware the hard sell. If you say you want one bra they will be relentless about you buying three. With the matching underwear. And then act appalled that you would even think of not purchasing them).

Every time I leave there I have a bra that I love that fits perfectly-it's just a living hell getting out of there with your wallet and temper in tact.

you need to start wearing a non-boned corset. it worked for me and the elasticity of my breasts is returning. They are very hard to fined as only the chinese now make this and most of the sizing is such that if you are over 18, i am 50, they do not fit. good luck. it took me 4 years to find one and it is falling apart.

I hate Chantelle bras! I'm also a 32DDD. Go to Sylene in Chevy chase for a fitting.

Are you suggesting no underwire for large cup sizes? That's a bad idea, IMO. It looks and feels terrible and clothes don't fit.

I didn't know they had free shipping! And I just paid for shipping on Wacoal bras from Macy's online. But I will bookmark the Wacoal website for future orders. Thanks!

My size is 32F, and I have never had issues with bras. The trick is to get fitted properly and spend some money on good-quality bras. My Rigby and Pellar bras are very comfortable and look terrific too.

Another vote for intimacy. I'm a 34 dddd (g). After kids I would consider a reduction too. I'm 5'2, and my boobs and hips are fairly balanced, but my shoulders have had enough, clothes don't fit, and not wearing a bra even around the house just sucks.

Not true. There are non-underwire bras that work beautifully for larger cup sizes.
