Bare hands vs. Washcloths

Bare hands. Well, hands that are soapy, that is. Works for me.

Bare hands for me. I use a wash cloth on my face as an exfoliant maybe once a week. I agree with the PP that said it wastes too much soap.

Washcloth
1 for face
1 for body

bare hands.

and i have extremely sensitive skin that gets irritated when scrubbed, so yeah, soap and hands it is.

all of you grossed out about touching your nethers, um, you have kids right? clearly you've gotten poop on your hand and washed it off with soap and water and all was good...right?

I use the washing gloves, so much easier than anything else. They scrub you better than a washing puff and they are easier to clean and rinse than a washcloth. I hate using a washcloth, such a pain to get soap into it and out of it and holding it is awkward. So fast to wash yourself with gloves as you use both hands at once.

I'm not even the kind of person to get grossed out by that type of stuff normally, but it was disgusting. I haven't used one since. Washcloths are so slippery I feel like I can't even wash properly with them. It's a fight. So I just use bare hands.

Test your kitchen sponges and brushes then.

Bare hands. But I can't believe people find so many things gross. How do you get through a day with your various phobias? Jeez.

Bare hands in the shower. Washcloth every night at the sink to wash my face with special cleanser. I let the washcloth dry and use it for about 3 days in a row before laundering -- i.e., until it gets smelly.

Those of you who find bare hands gross, is it that you think one doesn't get clean enough just using hands? Or is it yucky to you to touch your own body with soapy hands? Trying to understand this.

I have dry, sensitive skin, and I can literally get eczema if I scrub with a washcloth. I have to be careful about it. Your body sloughs off skin cells naturally and soap dissolves oils... you don't *need* washcloths, although I understand that they can feel nice and like they're getting the job done "better."

I use a scrubbie or whatever people are calling them, but only because I use a non-soap Eucerin body wash that doesn't lather otherwise. I've occasionally tried to use a washcloth, but I find that it doesn't lather and that it tends to be hard to slide it over your skin (that is, the hand holding the washcloth moves while the washcloth stays still on my arm or whatever).

For people who think "bare hands" is gross, what do you find gross about it? How do you wash your hands during the day or before cooking? I assume you don't think that's gross, so why is washing the rest of your body that way any different?

Anonymous wrote:Bare hand washing is disgusting. You are not rubbing dirt or dead skin off your body. Your skin is probably rough. It's certainly not getting clean. I use a wash cloth everytime and everywhere also, and I toss it in the hamper to be washed after.First time I saw someone washing with just their hands, I thought "what they hey?"

Why were you watching someone shower in the first place?

I guess it depends on the individual and the culture their from.

People of some cultures think it's okay to f**k around with multiple partners - sometimes strangers - racking up unplanned pregnancies & STDs, as they hypocritically judge others on their private grooming & hygiene routines.

And then there's people of other cultures which pride themselves on not engaging in sleazy lifestyle habits. These people already feel clean from leading a clean life in the first place, and don't feel the need for cleaning tools in the shower. Sometimes ignorant people - such as yourself - project their own "disgusting" body and skin issues onto other people, and then that ignorance needs to be called out.

Just saying...

What is gross about it? It's your body. Is your body gross?

You can wash them in the laundry.

Bare hands. I really can't afford to do laundry that often so I never use wash cloths.
