DD behavior issues at school-- advice needed!

She is 8 years old & a girl. Lots of girls around that age become emotional wrecks. Keep it simple and work with her on taking a deep breathe when she is upset and teaching her (not telling her) to figure out what she is really upset about. She needs to be taught how to deal with her emotions. Also, if she thinks the work is boring, so what that is what she has to do. You have about 12 more years of this.

beautiful, beautiful. Totally agree with this. As someone above said, it sounds more like a character issue.

obviously she needs a classroom that is more "fun." Could be an AAP deficit disoreder.

oops: disorder. You can probably find a professional something-or-other in this area to deal with this pernicious malady.

Me too. Sounds like the symptoms I've recently been reading about in Driven to Distraction. OP, you might take a look at that book and see if you have an "aha" moment about your DC -- or not.
