How could Robyn Lawley be considered "plus size"???!!!

Yes, except they don't adjust the length. So if you are tall you are going to appear slimmer as a 10 than you will if you are short. Picture a 5' person wearing a size 10 and then someone 5'10" wearing the same pants (which are now cropped). Who do you think will look slimmer?

And speaking as someone with a longer-than-average inseam, I really wish they would size them longer!!

You are talking about appearances, I'm talking about actual measurement. Or are you saying that the waist size for a 10 in longer lengths is different than a 10 in petites for the same brand of pants?

No, I was talking about appearances. I can wear a 4 petite, it just looks funny....what they used call "high waters". And what some women now wear as cropped pants.

By the way, height doesn't affect size the way you think. Plenty of tall women are still size 6 shirts or skirts. Pants are different because of length. Being tall only changes your size if you are wide, either you skeleton or from weight.

You're right about the size thing, but I think it's silly to call someone who is height-weight proportional, like she is, plus size.

What does proportional mean? She would look better if she lost 10 pounds. Maybe more. For a model, that is plus size. Being taller doesn't mean you can have a higher percentage of body fat and still be a regular model.

And a regular woman with 32% body fat can't say she doesn't have weight to lose just because she's tall.

Seeing her on different photos, she looks anything from skinny to normal weight. Here she looks like a typical model you see in any catalogue, skinny. Not very different from supermodel Cindy Crawford in her days. Whether she is photoshopped in this picture or she is just skinny, i don't know, but she looks like a size 6. In other photos she looks like she could be size 8 or 10 at the most.

She looks great to me. I'm 5'8" and I look thin as a 10 and fine as a 12. Don't care at all what people on this board say about that being fat!

NP. I am 5'11", size 10, healthy BMI. The waist sizes are the same for petite vs tall clothing, but the length will obviously be different, and the tailoring/cut will be different because curves will hit at different places.

Tall women carry our weight differently. People usually think that I am "thin" and are shocked when they realize what size pants I wear or how much I weigh.

I'm 5'8" and look fat at 12/14, kind of chubby at 10 (but at least finally in the healthy BMI range), and I don't know what I'd look like as an 8. It took 30 lbs to drop from 14 to 10 and still need to lose 15+.

I am 5'8" and I went down to an 8 when I was really sick, and I looked really sick. I finally got up to 10 but I was still skinny, but gained a little more and was still 10 and probably my perfect weight 7 lbs higher than I thought I should be. Looking back, it was sad I basically starved myself trying to be a smaller size 10 or a size 8.

Now I am size 12, people call me skinny, but I could lose 10 lbs. But those 10 lbs would just make my boobs sag and my butt flat so what is the point.

Good camera angles and trickery, notice how all her pictures don't show her sideview of stomach and tighs? Or thighs always pressed together?

She looks like a perfectly healthy size 14 to me. I wish there were a lot more diversity in the sizes of models -- and in race and age, as well.

I tried on some clothing my much older neighbor was tossing. It was several decades old. It was brand name. All pieces were clearly labeled a size 8. I wear a size 16-18 (sometimes 1x). It fit perfectly.

Sizes are completely different today.

You are like me I bet- do you carry all/any extra weight in your mid section? I do. My hips and waist have no definition at all. I need to lose 15 more pounds from pregnancy (which at this point is already 8 months ago so part if it is lack of willpower/ lack of sleep etc) but it am 2 whole pants sizes higher
