Am I the only one who actually likes Joe Biden?

His sister was his campaign manager. And his niece was the volunteer coordinator. It was very much a family affair. They are all very close. I truly enjoyed my summer there.

My mom talked to him at a campaign stop in 2008 in SC (they left DE a couple years after I graduated college) and she swears he remembers me. I am not sure I buy it, but my mom loves the story.

Joe Biden is one of the few politicians that is truly in touch with reality. Unlike the majority of Congress, he has modest wealth and is probably far closer to the middle class than just about anyone else in Congress. Jill Biden is a school teacher and Biden has been in Congress virtually his whole life. The Bidens did not have much family wealth or personal wealth so they are probably near the bottom of the Congressional household wealth scale. His bump from $174K as Congressman to $230K as VP was probably the biggest boost to their income they have had since Biden entered Congress. Also, until he went to the VP mansion on Mass Ave, he used to commute back and forth from Delaware on Amtrack. He was like so many of the Washington workforce with a hideously long commute via train in and out of downtown. Truly a man of the people.

i thought he was good last night. a bit sappy at times but very good in making a case for obama. especially like that comparison of his dad who was a used car salesman with romney's dad who owned an auto company.

He was literally unqualified to serve in the Senate when he was elected. His thirtieth birthday occurred a few weeks later.

I'd hit that.

Two words - Dan Quayle

Biden had 30+ years as a us senator. He served as the chair of the foreign relations committee and the Judiciary committee. He was instrumental in many important pieces of legislation, including the violence against women act and the bill to put more cops on the street. He also was deeply committed to ending the violence in Bosnia long before anyone else even noticed it. He met milosovic face to face and called him a war criminal.

Unqualified? Hardly. You can call him a clown, but NOT unqualified.

Another two words - Sarah Palin.

I rest my case.

I don't mind the gaffes, I'd rather have a politician who occasionally says what he thinks instead of reading from a script. Don't get me wrong - I wouldn't vote for him at the top of the ticket, but I don't understand why there is always this negative vibe about him. I think he's an asset to Obama who may be brilliant but has a bit of a cold fish thing going on.

You're kidding. With those (fake) pearly whites and the obvioius hair plugs?

I grew up in DE. My (Greek) uncles threw one of his first fundraisers at their diner.

I've met him many times.

He's "good people."

Any economist will tell you that Ryan is bad at the arithmetic based on his joke of a budget plan.

Hair plugs is your strongest argument? That's just sad.
