Anyone start a large family after 30?

What you want to do is start having unprotected sex when the first is a year. You can ramp it up to actually ttc a few months after that. My mistake was waiting until the second was 2 to start trying. If I could do it again, I would start earlier on the third. You have more time than I did, however.

Yes, I had first t 31, second at 33 and third at 35. Am now 37 and thinking about fourth this year. DH and I have both decided that if it doesn't happen this year that we will be ok if we have just three kids. We had or first three bac to bac bad the baby is almost two now. I feel like I shoul have a newborn. We needed to space the third and fourth a bit more as I had a very difficult pregnancy with the second and third. Also, had a m/c between 1 and 2. Half of the families on our street have four children. Most of the parents were almost 40 when their fourth and final came along. I want to be at the most 38.

I had my three babies at 31, 33, and 35. Hope to have one more, but not until I am at least 38. (I'm kinda overwhelmed with three little ones right now, hoping that when the first two are older and more independent, I will be ready to have #4.)

I do know a family with 4 kids who moved to Frederick last year. More bang for the buck.

I'm going into 30 next year with 1 kid next year, so this thread is inspiring.

I started mine at the age of 42. Hubby and I initially didn’t want to have kids till we settled down a bit. Then we had a hard time conceiving. When I did it was triplets (3 girls!) the first go! We had a son two years later. And I’m pregnant again! As long as your healthy, lead an active lifestyle you’ll be okay!

this is true, a healthy active lifestyle really does not have anything to do with fertility. And having twins or triplets at an older age would be so high risk! But PP, I am happy for you that it worked out and you have a big family.
