Anyone start a large family after 30?

Anonymous
My BFF started at 29 and her kids are 4.5, 3, 1.5 and her fourth is due in September.

I had four after 30.

I consider anything over 2 kids to be a "large family". I have 4 friends who all started over age 30 and have at least 3 kids or more.

Of course. After 30? I could see having more than three if you started after 35 as challenging, but many women conceive easily throughout their 30s.

Hi, what is the age gap between the 3?

Many women have babies well into their 40s. Most of the responses in this thread have no involved multiples. Do you think that every woman in this thread who posted is making it up?

I have two cousins who each started having kids after 30 (I think one was 33, the other 34). They both had 4 kids within about 7 years. To me, that's crazy and stressful, but they both seem to love it! Of course, neither lives in DC so it's a lot cheaper - one lives in rural Tennessee and one in Texas. Just to clarify, both are highly educated though - one with a masters from UVA and one with an MBA from Texas.

3 under 3?! Wow

I have a set of twins, under two and expecting my third and final next month (I am 39)

Two years and three years.

If 3 counts as "large" I have a 2 year old (24 months on the dot) a 5 month old and we plan to have one more. (Hopefully) will get pregnant when the 5 month old is 10 months or so.

Ugh maybe not just typing that made me exhausted.

I have had 4 kids since I was 30. I am 36.

But I also had kids before I was 30.

My mom had her last at 47, so I hope I have a few years left!

Anette Benning had for starting at 35 or so, right?

I live in Arlington and know tons of families of 3-4 kids (no -multiples) that started early-mid 30s.

I got pregnant on first try at 34 and 37 and considered going for a third at 39--- but decided not to rock the boat. It would have been too chaotic for me.

Thank you. I'll give birth to my first at 34 and would love at least one more - DH wants two more. This gives me hope

Yes, if you consider 4 children "large." Got pp on my honeymoon at 33, so first was born when I was 34. My fourth child was born when I was 39. All four are singletons.
