Tell me about USAA banking

Awesome. Insurance is the best! Seriously, we had a house fire, 2 auto accidents and a leaking roof within 1 year and no questions asked. Of course they obtained reimbursement for fire, faulty appliance , and auto accidents from other carriers but customer service is unreal.

The commercials make them sound like they're part of the military - "a legacy." I change the station whenever their commercials come on the radio. Why are they playing their commercials all of the time lately. I had never heard of them before a few months ago. Now, they're like Geico and that annoying gecco.

Are they the ones that advertise investing based on "military values?"

What are "military values?" Kill, kill, kill?

Honor, discipline, and duty to your country. You stupid communist.

You don't think communists have militaries that espouse similar values? Or, do you simply not understand what a communist is? I'm guessing it's the latter one, since people who are this jingoistic tend to be pretty ignorant.

But again, what do honor and duty to country have to do with banking? Discipline I get.

Back to the original question...
Yes, they are fabulous! I've been with them almost 15 years and have had very few issues. The only negative is that the interest on their savings accounts is really low. We did switch our savings account to another bank with a much higher interest rate.

I don't know about their banking, but we had an awful experience when our mortgage was with USAA. The refinance process was a communication and paperwork nightmare, and they screwed up our property tax payments, resulting in weeks of my being on the phone trying to straighten things out. I was so happy to refinance to another lender.

We love USAA too. We've used them since our college days and we use them for a lot of different things: banking, investments (some), insurance. However, we don't have our mortgage through USAA. Like the first PP, we found them to be hard to work with in that department. We got our mortgage through PenFed and had a pretty decent experience, considering you do everything online or via phone. Still, I'd recommend USAA in a New York minute to anyone who qualified.

Although, when you think about it, don't more members mean less cash when we get our Xmas savings account returns??

Have had them since college - awesome. Best customer service. And their location in Pentagon City is downright spa like. I was so caught off guard by how nice EVERYONE was. They gave me cookies. And water! And made nice small talk and honestly seem to care about you being a happy customer.

We also love them. We use the banking, auto insurance, and homeowners insurance. They are always pleasant and helpful. Loyal customer for over 15 years.

Interesting about the mortgages. We have everything there - banking, investments, insurance- except our mortgage.
Love the banking though. There is also a
Physical location in Annapolis.
