We are with Wells Fargo now and they keep getting worse and worse so it's time to switch. DH is a USAA member (former military) and we are thinking about switching to USAA banking. It looks great from the website, but I would like to hear from anyone with experience with it. How is the online bill pay? Have you had any problems with getting reimbursed for ATM fees, depositing checks, etc? |
Best thing since sliced bread.
Deposit Checks via mobile phone. ATM rebates are automatic. Online Bill Pay is the simplest I've ever used. When you call a rep they are customer service solution focused. |
Love love love them. We switched last summer from Wells Fargo, best decision ever. Online bill pay rocks, and we deposit all checks via online (download their app, snap a picture of your check and, voila, it's automatically deposited). Their customer service is fantastic. We get reimbursed for all ATM fees (there is a limit, I don't remember the details, but we've never had an issue with it). We also have car insurance and a car loan through them. Their website is incredibly user-friendly, too. I've never met anyone dissatisfied with USAA, I highly recommend them. |
USAA is probably the best bank and insurance company around. If you qualify for it I dont understand why you aren't already a member
Minimal if any fees Amazing rates Very helpful customer service ATM payback The list is unending |
Awesome! I bank And have their insurance. No one cn compete with their customer service. |
No overdraft fees , all mobile deposits, every cvs had usaa atms that do not incur a fee, for other atms you will be reimbursed for up to (I think) 16 a month in fees, the only down fall is that in order to deposit cash you have to either deposit it in another back and transfer or go to their main branch in pentagon city. |
Oh we switched from back of crapmerica. What is with the idiot brick and mortar banks building new buildings and expanding physically when they should be closing stores and beefing up their online capabilities. I hope they all go under I hate the big banks. |
We LOVE USAA. I've had it since college and that's essentially all we use. They also have great insurance.
And they now have an app for iPhones which is awesome. |
Lately I hear USAA commercials so much all of a sudden that I really hate them. Over and over again, their commercials sound like propaganda to me. Are they a private company. The commercials make them sound like they're part of the military - "a legacy." I change the station whenever their commercials come on the radio. Why are they playing their commercials all of the time lately. I had never heard of them before a few months ago. Now, they're like Geico and that annoying gecco. |
OP here - thanks for the feedback. I think we'll be switching. |
Wait, they have a branch office in Pentagon city, where? Love, love, love USAA. |
I always see rave reviews for USAA banking on DCUM but there are a lot of negative reviews on their website. I'm confused. |
You can also buy a money order and deposit at UPS stores but still seems like an unenecessary step for such a customer oriented organization. I was happy to see USAA ATMs at CVS but was surprised still can't deposit cash. |
We love USAA. Made the switch after Wachovia morphed into Wells Fargo. Much better products. Lower fees. Do it. |
Join a credit union! If yu are military, you can probably get in Navy Federal or PenFed. The latter has an amazing 5/5 refi deal... |
