Biggest compromise to living in Mclean is that you are in Virginia. |
Ahhh, but then don't call them the top three in NoVa - since they are the 4th and 6th top ranking. |
NP here, the poster you are quoting listed elementary schools, compared to your high school list so no wonder it is different |
|
What's with all the constant vitriol spewing against the women in McLean? Have a bad experience, or what? Talk about juvenile, and it seems that every thread that even remotely mentions McLean draws the same nut who starts in on that.
Tiresome. |
I agree, I grew up in McLean and live there now. I don't see it as the perfect place to live by any means, but if you think all women or all moms especially in McLean behave a certain way then you come off as pretty misogynistic. Signed, Someone who was raised by a lovely women who lives in McLean |
Hi Neighbor! Nope, not perfect. But pretty nice. (although we could use better restaurants).
--a McLean Mom who: does not drive a black Mercedes, doesn't think she's still in high school, and doesn't scream and shout at the kids from the sidelines. |
those that cannot live there hate those that do. |
| Anyone know why there's a serious Sweetleaf hater on DCUM? I mean it's not like we have such discriminating palates here in McLean. I find it odd to see this hater working DCUM. Unless there's more to it? |
Same could and is often said about Bethesda, Potomac, NW DC, CC, etc. Get over it, it only feels like people single out McLean because you live there. All of the Bethesda, NW, etc moms feel the same way. |
|
ITA there are many haters in this geographical area. Yes, some exist in McLean (EGADS!) - would it not be statistically impossible otherwise? It is a rhetorical question, of course.
As for Sweetleaf, it is one of the best things to happen to McLean! I suppose 14:27 said it best

LOL what "awesome restruants [sic]"??? The Olive Garden? Chili's? TGIF? What American dream includes every chain store imaginable in such a small concentrated space? Think about that scene in Fight Club where Ed Norton's character looks around and sees his entire apartment as stuff out of an IKEA catalog. Matter of fact, just watch the whole movie. "You are not your fucking khakis!" |
I love the fight club reference... I do think there are actually good restaurants in the area, not saying they are the best but there is a lot more in the Tysons area than you think- Chef Geoff's, Chima, (both have great Happy Hours!) and some good ones in the Gallera like Wildfire. La Sandia in Tysons I is pretty awesome too. Sorry no Applebees though.... |
You can't be serious? |
Is there anything comparable to Citronelle? Komi? Vidalia? The places in the Galleria do not compare. And I've never been to Applebees. "You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your fucking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world. " "You are not special. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. You're the same decaying organic matter as everything else. " |
|
Truly, I am dumbfounded by the level of suburban myopia displayed here.
Decent restaurants in Tysons corner? One of the best addresses in the DC metro area? Please, I beg you, tell me you're kidding.... |
