I am a CPA and have no idea how this is possible for you? |
| DH works about 35 hrs a week, including one day from home. Makes $120K. Just a bachelor's degree. He's in software. |
Those salaries are reasonable we have no problems with you guys. |
| I don't get it. Every non profit position I've ever seen or interviewed for hovered around $60K. And these were senior/director/management positions. Just not getting how you are making these salaries... |
| OP. my current role is raising money for a $100 million capital campaign for a large organization. |

| DH is 45 and makes $90,000 working 40h/wk for the fed gov't. He has two masters degrees. I am 35, make about $60,000 working in the mental health field. I have a masters and a professional license, and work 30h/wk. My kids are pretty young (3 and 5), so this is what works for us right now, with me having a reduced schedule and therefore reduced salary. |

Fed economist, GS-14. 36 years old, 11 years at my agency. I make $115k. 40 hours/week, including one telework day.
I have B.A. and M.A. degrees in economics, but the M.A. wasn't a requirement. |
Not all non-profits are charitable organizations. Some are large trade associations representing hundreds of thousands of members with a focus on lobbying, policy, and retirement/benefit plan administration. I work for one and executive level salaries are into the $200,000 range. |

No degree, inside sales...anywhere from 100K-165K.
I WFH and very rarely top 40hrs, except during busy season (august-september) During December-January, I'm hard pressed to find 20hrs of work to do. |
Oh, and I'm 34. This is the "top" salary for my field. To make more, I'd have to transition to outside sales and I'm not willing to do that. Too much pressure. |
| Non-profit manager, grad degree, about 29 hours a week, $120k |

Yup, I'm a scientist at a non-profit (advanced degree) and making less than $60K. Pay sucks, work is interesting, schedule and flexibility are awesome (work from home 35hr/wk). I'll be looking for a job that pays me what I'm worth at some point, but right now with small kids this is the tradeoff I'm making to stay in the workforce. I'm 34.
I can't wait for the day when I bring home a real paycheck though... |
Thanks. I'm the pp you're quoting - I work for an accounting firm. There, now I've given more info than you have.
