OP, there are good suggestions here. My one regret is not solving the problem during my first pregnancy. Once you get hemorrhoids, they come and go forever. I developed them while pregnant with my first and then after a couple of hours of pushing during labor... oh my. The hemorrhoids were honestly harder to deal with than the 2nd degree tear.
Also, I suggest fresh cherries and lots of salad. And metamucil. |

Magnesium Sulfate.
They sell it at any Wlagreens / CVS / Rite Aid / Grocery / etc... Drink half the bottle (tastes like lime) and stay home the rest of the day. It will clean you right out and make your system nice and happy. |
| Lots and lots and lots of fruit. Not even kidding. Just load up on apples, prunes, plums, etc. And drink lots of water! Triscuit crackers help, too, because of the fiber. |
| Colace. One a day, works great for me. I've tried Metamucil (takes days to work) and eating prunes. Gotta go with Colace. |
Be careful with this stuff. It has a very high sodium content which is what causes you to go Lots of salt makes your body pull water from wherever it can get it (mainly from your intestines). People who have kidney issues need to be especially careful with using it. Drink plenty of water to counteract the diuretic effect. Prunes, prune juice, high fiber sources are a much better alternative. |
| Daily salad, vegetables, and smoothie made from banana, strawberries and apricots. Cherries also help me. |
| I had this with my first but not second pregnancy. Walking really helps. And kale chips (or just kale - but it is much more fun to eat a whole bunch of kale when it's crispy, yes, i'd say eat one bunch like every other day). I guess what will work will depend on the extent of your problem, but this could be a natural and good for you solution. |
I have found that I am very regular when I remember to eat ground flax seed |
| Dr. Pepper always works for me. They deny there's prune juice in it, but my intestines disagree. It worked for me before pregnancy and still does, but I haven't had serious constipation problems. I also have a pretty high-fiber diet. |

Had the same problem! Was even hospitalized!
Solution: EDY'S ACAI BLUEBERRY POPSICLES! (I guess it has natural doodoo making probiotics - they realllly work) |
| Apples and coffee |
| Carrot juice. You can get it at Costco. |
