ONE House in Neighborhood Where We Really Want to Live (Wootton School Cluster) -How Much To Offer?

Hey OP - are you saving your powder and hoping for a price reduction, or have you decided that this isn't the house for you after all? I see it's still on the market after 43 days. Just curious.

LOL!

FWIW, that house is CHEAP AS SHIT!

No did not get it. Deal fell through on sale of our house so back to square one and very bitter about it. Tried crunching the numbers to see if we could take on two mortgages and it would have been too tight.

Sorry, OP -- that stinks. I hope you get to move to a new house soon. It's still peak selling season. Perhaps it will even work out for you to get that particular house, since others don't seem to be jumping on it at the moment.

I am so sorry. I know you are angry and heartbroken. Better luck will come your way!

Hey OP, the North Potomac house must be waiting for you. Still on the market after 95 days. Maybe you can still get it if you were able to find another buyer for your house.

As a person living happily in an area with plenty of low income peope I will say ... enjoy your icky split level tract house and your horrendous commute. Yuck.

It's really ugly - and priced the same as ours in our not-so-great feeder pattern 'hood.

cheap as shit!

THIS is what I was referencing in my characters of DCUM post.

Like, here's a $__M home I'm buying [near Wooton] - what do you think. . . ?

I think you are posting this purely for adulation. So here it is . . .

WOW, you are so well off!!! You must have so much money! I wish I was you! Gee, that neighborhood must be really exclusive. Can I lick your ass hole please?

SO TRUE!
When I bought my first condo it was behind Loehmanns plaza in Rockville. People referred to that area as "North Bethesda" I always joked and said it was more like West Wheaton. Call a spade a spade, people!

It looks like a nice house OP. I hope that it works out for you. But I'd also be careful about what you post on here.. this forum is so widely read, and the Real Estate forum is relatively small. It seems pretty likely that your reatlor relative checks it out now and then.
And, like the other PP said, I'd never post a link to a house I wanted to bid on. Even one other buyer bidding against you can increase the price a lot or lose you the house.

More evidence you should fire your realtor. If you are considering an offer, your realtor should be providing you with a thorough list of comps in the area. This will help you decide on a good offer, and will help her make a strong argument to the seller's agent as to why your offer is a good one.

Yes. Any good realtor should be able to rpvide comps, even if there hasn't been much sales activity in that area lately.

You do know that most of the people calling these places North Potomac or North Bethesda didn't come up with those names themselves, right?

My home in the 20852 zip code is alternately called North Bethesda or Rockville, depending on what I'm not sure. Personally, I just a soon someone come up with one name and stick with it, but it's not like I decided to call it North Bethesda -- it was called that before I got here.

I find most of Montgomery County vexing in this respect -- too many unincorporated places with no real town status! Heck, even Bethesda's not a real governmental entity.

uh yeah

WE know that!

But the simple fact is that people will be drawn to North Potomac b/c of the name. And at this point, these stupid names have been used for so long that people do indeed separate Gaithersburg from North Potomac even if only a sidewalk divides the two.

My point is why rag on people like the OP about this? It's not like she's bragging that it's in North Potomac. Or do you feel like just using the term instead of Gaithersburg is just plain uppity? It's not like everything is Potomac is all that, you know? There are crappy houses and townhouses there just like plenty of other places in Montgomery County.
