Is this appropriate to wear in the workplace?

and better looking

I think they look fine with a suit as long as the pants are long enough.

With a skirt, I would wear something more toned down.

So it depends what she is wearing them with.

I think height also plays a part in this. I'm 5'10, and if I wore these shoes I would 1) look ridiculous and 2) be wearing them to increase my sex appeal only.

If partner is 5'2", perhaps she wears them to be able to look at her coworkers in the eye.

btw, I think the Lobos are fashion forward and could pull a look together. The heels of the OPs shows definitely look more "stripper chic" to me.

They strike me as very Ali McBeal. Why not?

A platform would be a whole other thing though.

Meh.

I have these shoes http://www1.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/cole-haan-mariela-air-peeptoe-platform-pumps?ID=468743

As long as you style them appropriately with a more demure, professional outfit it can work.

Here's a similar shoe to what she's been wearing:

Attorney here -- I'm drooling over these. Gorgeous!

This is definitely one of those 'only in dc' questions. They are not overtly sexy/inappropriate or distracting.

However, nerds like me will note that in case of injury you won't be covered by worker's comp if you are not wearing a covered toe and heel.

I see people in my office wear shoes like the ones OP posted and I am yet to see one who can actually walk in them. They all look ridiculous because every singe woman wearing them looks like she is in pain and about to fall over.

You do know that Louboutin is notorious for crossing the line to tasteless?

Granted that DC is a bit more conservative than other cities, but I still wouldn't wear these for a regular day at the office. Now for an evening out, I think they'd be smashing.

I don't think peep-toes are ever really work appropriate but that's just me.
