We have users from all over the country, indeed all over the world. However, the focus of the website is DC and the areas close in. DC, Montgomery Country, and PG County are all very liberal. Not that I mind posters from other areas, including the OP, who it appears is posting from just west of Outer Suburbia if he sees cheap housing in his midst.

Actually, many of us do think that the term takes in a broader area for the purposes of naming media outlets. Don't you think that the New York Times is for people who live in the NY metro area, not just the five boroughs? Isn't the the Washington Post Metro Section targeted at a wider area than just the city limits of DC? It is generally considered appropriate to use city names as a short-hand for metropolitan areas when giving a name to a newspaper, blog, web forum, etc.
