John 3:16, 316 passing yards?

Um, no. I get what you were saying about Tebow doing positive things. Good for him. And of course further, who should be considered a positive role model. I don't disagree that quite a few athletes are NOT good people or good role models. I was just stating that I think Tom Brady and Lebron don't necessarily belong on this list for the reasons listed. The womanizing is way more offensive than a baby out of wedlock with someone you were/are in a long-term relationship with.

I hope Tebow actually does practice what he preaches where women are concerned.

FWIW, my understanding is that Tom Brady has done the best he could with the situation of his first child. Bridget got pregnant pretty much their last time together. Stuff happens. And while I'm not a fan of Lebron, hasn't he been with the mother of his children forever? And they are getting married soon, correct?

People have sex out of wedlock - Sometimes, kids result from it. It just shows they are human. As long as they aren't out there knocking up multiple women, I won't fault them for those things.

I'm not saying people should emulate them having kids out of wedlock, but I'm less willing to condemn these 2 for the listed "offenses" than the others.

Yet, I think you miss the point.

Not PP, but you also missed the point. Kids out of wedlock shouldn't even be on your list. Jesus was conceived out of wedlock, no?

I'm not the Brady/James poster but rather than going to a list of people, is it so hard to agree that Tim is doing positive and helpful things with his time and money off the field. And that he should be commended, not ridiculed for doing so? And generally speaking, isn't Tim doing more/better than lots of athletes similarly situated? Why begrudge this kid?

kids out of wedlock is the biggest problem in our society today. definitely belongs on the list. sure it is easier if the dad is a millionaire quarterback - that is not the norm.

I honestly don't mind him personally. Glad he is doing good things with his life, money and fame.

It is the insanity of his "followers" that is obnoxious.

LOL, not only did you miss the point, you compared the Brady and James out-of-wedlock children to Jesus. Funny enough. But if you believe Jesus was conceived out of wedlock you also believe he was immaculately conceived. That would be a high standard to hold athletes to. Still laughing.

I didn't say he was immaculately conceived, but Mary was pregnant before marriage, so says the bible.

Also, the bastards (technically speaking) aren't even close to being the biggest problem in our society. Unless of course, they are the ones running the banks, Congress, Wall St., etc.

I don't hate Tebow.

But, he's not a great football player. He gets credit he doesn't deserve. He wouldn't have won half the games he did without his kicker. The kicker won quite a few games for the broncos.
And before people come back with Tebow bringing him into field goal position: 59 yards is not a field goal position. So instead of thanking Jesus, he should be thanking Matt Prater For saving his ass over and over again.

He's young, time for him to be humble and learn to throw a football on a consistent basis. Otherwise he's nothing but a mediocre RB.

Well, what do you know...I'm a hater after all.

I admit, I'm an Eagle and I hate Tim Tebow, the player, not necessarily the person.

Tebow would say himself that football doesn't matter. It's not about football, and it's not about him. That's what people like Bill Maher don't get.

Everything he does, he does to glorify his Creator. God has granted him the opportunity to play football and earn a lot of money that way. So he praises God for the opportunity and uses the money to help the sick, the poor, and the disadvantaged. He takes the talents God has given him and uses them to the best of his ability. If the day comes that his talents are not good enough for success in the NFL, he'll use them in a different way.

So people who don't understand will be gleeful when he stumbles, on the field or off. But the truth will stay the truth. We are all beloved children of God. Our lives are gifts. We can choose to use them for good or evil. Since we are weak (concupiscence), we will often choose a the lesser, the easier path. But by the grace of God, we can choose the higher, even in the face of adversity.

"The Lord has given and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Please don't bring Mary and Jesus and the Bible into your post. It's not analogous here. If the bible says Jesus was immaculately conceived, that doesn't make it a parable about the good deeds of children born out of wedlock. And that you would mention it along with the children of Brady and James, that's offensive and laughable.

What does an Eagle do during the off season?

Again, point being, there is nothing wrong with being conveived out of wed lock. There is nothing offensive about Brady & James' kids. Comparing two out of wed lock kids is comparing apples to apples. Sorry the truth is bitter to you.

And I see you cleaned up your point by keeping out Jesus, Mary and Joseph. Bless you.
