Penn State Scandal parallel to Beauvoir Pedophile

I am very sorry for the affected children and their families. However, Beauvoir has many policies in place now to educate first reporters as well as safe guards in place to deter pedophiles from seeking employment there. Things of a nature that I have not seen in many other schools,BTW. In general, it is policies and the systematic application of them that protect children, not "going on a hunch" or a gut feeling though that is also valuable and Beauvoir's admin/ board have invested , to their credit, careful thought and $$$ into policies and procedures. I sincerely doubt that a pedophile would attempt to walk onto the cathedral close, let alone try to get a job there now.. best way to end up w/ the FBI on your door step.

No. IP addresses are not connected to a computer. IP addresses are assigned to networks. If you connect to Comcast, you get an address that is assigned to Comcast. If you disconnect your computer from Comcast and connect via wifi at Starbucks, you get an address that has been assigned to the Starbucks network (I believe Starbucks is actually using AT&T's network, but I could be wrong about that). The address in this thread that everyone is excited about is tied to a network in the DC area. The address has a posting history would not be expected of Eric Toth.


Hmm, well OK you are obviously the tech guy here , but I was always under the assumption that an IP address is computer specific and here is why: at two separate jobs that I had whenever I had to call IT help desk for help with a computer problem, the first thing they would ask me was:" what is your IP address?" This was so that they could trace the problem on my work computer. Perhaps in a work location there is no guarantee that one person will always be on the same computer, but if it is a lap top in your house, well then??

The school knew that the teacher was taking 10-20 boys for a week camping after school let out that summer -- when one parent questioned the school about it, one of the administrators said not to worry that they were taking care of it...

I am not trying to suggest a cover up or conspiracy, but how could they really not know anything? When did they first suspect? Was it true that he wasn't supposed to have his door closed, put kids in his lap, etc.? What is their duty to inform parents?

Moreover, under the head's and the administration's watch, this teacher LIVED at the school. Shouldn't you know that?

No one sued the school as far as I know. No one has the balls, IMHO.

To date, no one has the courage to sue Beauvoir over this. Also--in this case "only" pictures were taken of the boys--there is no direct
account of physical touching...in spite of the fact that common sense tells you that it occurred. And, yep, I have no doubt that Eric Toth is out there assaulting more boys than ever, emboldened by the fact that he got away with it. Add him to my "Beat the Crap out of Them any Day of the Week " list.

a few things:

1. Toth is KNOWN to read these boards
2. Toth did touch kids inappropriately -- was seen with boys in his lap against their will, combed their hair, massaged them (back and legs), had boys tryon this Indian costume without underwear for a play which never happened, held hands, hugged and more ALL against their wills
3. The assistant teacher was in the classroom with him, she was a complete idiot...she saw what he did and did nothing.
4. People saw him doing inappropriate things for sure

I believe that the research shows that a certain proportion of sexually abused children become child predators themselves. In fact, many children are discovered as victims when they start to act out on other younger kids when they themselves are still in their teens. Other victims become chronically depressed or suicidal and others become fierce child advocates. Such is human nature. I don't think current psychiatric theory gives much credence the old belief that " it is all about how you were mothered", so I wouldn't go blaming Toth's mother. Though I do find it malfeasant of her( if she really is a psychiatrist) not to have at least anon notified the school if she new that her son was a pedophile and knew he was teaching at an elementary school.

Similarly, at Penn State,most likely Sandusky was a victim of child sexual abuse himself. Didn't he attend Penn State, then become a graduate asst there, then an asst coach...talk about the pararallells to the priesthood..jesus! Perhaps the graduate coach who witnessed the rape of the 10 year old at Penn State in 2002 reacted so passively because, having grown up across the street form the Sandusky's, he was also a prior victim. I have a hard time comprehending how a 28 year old man, a man famous for breaking up a knife fight between two 250 lb football players on campus, left a 10 year old child to continue to be raped by a 60 year old man in the shower and did nothing to assist him. After all, how hard would it have been to yell,"what the F*$@ are you doing and charge in there, knock the old geezer on his ass and call 911, really. Instead, he ran out of the locker room and called, not the police, but his father. Strikes me as very , very odd behavior from a well trained , lifelong "attack" "attack" "attack" football player. Perhaps what happened up at State College shows us that 50 years of absolute power corrupts absolutely. WTF: the VP of finance( $$$ for the Penn State is also in charge of supervising the police force when , oh BTW, the assistant coach is a 20 year known pedophile !@#! AND the lawyer for this so called charity, Second Mile, which basically bankrolled all of Sandusky's pedophillic exploits ( the hotel rooms, the football game tickets, the travel expenses) the lawyer for this pedophile ring is also the lawyer for Penn State University. WTF ! And the former prosecutor for the county disapeared in 2005 and his computer was found in a lake. Now the Catholic Church has got nothing on these people.....
