The "guaranteed issue" provisions don't take effect until 2014, except for children. The new law did provide funding for pre-existing condition plans (e.g., high risk pools), but as the OP noted, they are pricey.

OP here. We are definitely not planning a super fancy wedding! We are planning something with just the two of us.

I took an over-the-counter UTI test last night and again this morning. Both came up negative. Guess I need to high tail it to the doctor. Thanks again for all the advice.

Oh, and to answer the other questions - I have never given birth or been pregnant. I would honestly be shocked if I were diagnosed with diabetes. I would think I would have other symptoms, but it is definitely worth looking into.
