My name is Noelle Landolt, and I am the Online Community Manager at David's Bridal. We regret that there are some inaccuracies in these posts and want to take a few moments to clear up any misconceptions regarding working with David’s Bridal for your special day. We do encourage our brides & bridal parties to schedule an appointment, which allows us to ensure that they receive the assistance of one of our expert consultants throughout the entire visit. However, there is not a consultation fee for doing so, as it’s our pleasure to serve you; our customers only pay for the merchandise that they decide to purchase. We’re so sorry to hear that you were misinformed and would certainly like to clear this up. Please feel free to email us at DBCares@dbi.com with a phone number where you can be contacted during business hours or with any outstanding questions.

This post is a fake. All of the david's bridal emails are at davidsbridal.net
Nice try "Noelle"

In fact, if you google "Noelle Landolt, David's Bridal" the only thing that comes up is a sweepstakes.

You don't even know what you're talking about. Why are you calling fake when she's just trying to help the OP?

Besides the fee, are we expected to tip the bridal consultants?

So if there is no consultation fee then why was the OP charged $20 for each child to try on the flower girl dresses? I doubt she made that up. Likely they do have a fee but call it something other than a consultation fee hence Noelle saying they don't have a consultation fee.

Perhaps Noelle can answer...what was the $20 the OP was charged?

Tip? You're kidding right? Let's not set any precedent here. The industry sucks as it is!

They earn a salary, right? Commission is on top of that.

Some commissioned employees are straight commission, meaning they ONLY make a percentage of their sales. If they see nothing, they are paid a "draw" rate which is a low hourly rate which is then deducted from their next check.

Kind of makes sense to me. Their dresses are so cheap compared to other bridal salons - there's probably a lot more profit in a $4000 dress (like you'd find at Hitched) than in a $400 one.

Maybe they could take off the fee if you end up buying there? That seems fair.

I went. Didnt pay any kind if fee or tip. The lady was very nice and helpful. I did have an appointment.

You revived an almost 3 year old thread to say you didn't pay a fee? Get a life!

Rather spend a bit more at another store who doesn't charge a fee. When we went, we found them completely unhelpful. We went without an appointment and they were annoyed. We grabbed the dresses ourselves and my mom helped me get them on... so what exactly is the fee for (oh, we did get fussed at for grabbing too many)? That's not right to me.

You sound like a snotty brat. Good luck with your short lived marriage

$20 per consultation so times two kids. Plus the dresses $80 each and the sash. One dress will need to be altered but don't plan to do it there. They didn't have the shoes at that location and since discontinued they can't order it at the store. I would hope we woudnt be charged again if we went to another David Bridal store for shoes.

11:05, I wish we could have done something similar but it isn't our wedding and there is another flower girl in the mix so I'm sure bride wants them all to match.

Per person? That's crazy! Kids are half-peoples... that should be one fee!

I was in a shop in NYC that had a "try on fee." You had to pay a flat fee (I think it was $20 for adults, $5 for children) and then could try on as much as you wanted. If you bought something, that fee went towards the cost of the purchase. If not, you were just out the fee. It was to combat the women who came in to try on the clothes to get the correct size and then order online for cheaper.
